Seafood is the main event, and the rockfish and Atlantic salmon both come out cooked with care. The crab cakes are a signature, and you can order the Primo Crab Cake Platter or the Fried Seafood Feast if you are hungry.
Not everyone at the table has to order fish. Sonny’s Filet Mignon and the Seafood Alfredo round out the menu, and there is a Cream of Crab Soup you can even take to go.

The blackened rockfish tacos are a favorite, and the kitchen keeps the seafood front and center with crab cakes, fish and chips, a flight of oysters, and Maryland crab dip. The Crab Pretzel and Crabby Tots make good starters for the table.
You can eat indoors with big windows framing the water or head out to the spacious deck. Some folks even anchor a boat off the beach and catch the sunset from the water.

Named after the classic Chesapeake sailing boat, Bugeye Grill sits along Solomons Island Road with a river view worth showing up early for. The patio is where you want to be when the sun goes down.
Steaks and seafood share the spotlight here. The rockfish with crabmeat pairs beautifully with a NY Strip if your group wants to split and try both, and the Maple Walnut Salmon is another solid pick.
Finish with a slice of Smith Island Cake, the official state dessert, which is a fitting way to end a Maryland waterfront meal.
Portions run generous, service is attentive, and the atmosphere stays casual with a bit of trend to it. Weekends open earlier for brunch, while weekdays are dinner-focused.

Way down in St. Mary’s County, SALT Waterfront Kitchen looks out over Smith Creek toward the Potomac River. Firepits and lawn games make the outdoor space feel more like a gathering than a rushed meal.
The battered rockfish is a highlight and comes out cooked just right against that wide water view. The menu mixes upscale pub food with reasonable prices, so a Smash Burger or Chicken Wings fit right in next to the seafood.
There is a renovated dining room inside if the weather turns, plus a bar and plenty of outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome outside, and the setting leans romantic for a special night.

7. Water Street Seafood, Havre De Grace, MD
Up at the top of the Chesapeake in Havre de Grace, Water Street Seafood carries a Maryland theme through and through. It sits right on the waterfront, with river views from the outdoor picnic tables in season.
The rockfish catch of the day is a reliable pick, cooked and seasoned with care. Beyond that, the kitchen turns out crab cakes, Crab Hush Puppies, steamed crabs, raw oysters, and even a Seafood Cheesesteak.

Rockfish here shows up in a memorable form, served with gnocchi and a sweet corn sauce. It shares the menu with a proper raw bar, the New England Lobster Roll, a Cast Iron Crab Cake, and Seared Block Island Scallops.
