Arizona’s copper towns were built on early mornings, when miners needed a hot meal before a long shift underground. The mines have quieted, but the breakfast habit never left.
In Bisbee, Jerome, Miami, Globe, and Superior, small cafes still serve biscuits, burritos, and strong coffee inside buildings that date back to the boom years. Here are six spots worth planning a road trip around, with the hours and details you need before you go.
1. Bisbee Breakfast Club, Bisbee, AZ

Few breakfast tables in Arizona sit this close to a giant open-pit copper mine. Bisbee Breakfast Club is on Erie Street in Lowell, right beside the Lavender Pit, in a part of town that still looks like the mining days.
The menu is built for big appetites. The sausage gravy is peppery and loaded with ham chunks, bacon, and cheese, and the Big Biscuits and Gravy is the obvious place to start.
Chorizo Rancheros, Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, and Baked Oatmeal round out the list.
Breakfast is served all day, along with omelets, huevos rancheros, burgers, and coffee. There is also a full vegetarian and vegan menu.
Doors open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and reservations are not accepted. Weekend mornings get busy, so a weekday visit is the easier play.
Kids get their own menu, dogs are welcome, and parking is usually easy to find.
2. The Miner’s Café, Jerome, AZ

Jerome once called itself the Billion Dollar Copper Camp, and The Miner’s Cafe keeps that past front and center. The rustic, mining-themed room on Jerome Avenue fits right into a town perched on Cleopatra Hill.
The French toast is a big reason people line up. The Rusty Burrito, Biscuits and Gravy, and a breakfast sandwich cover the heartier side, while the avocado toast comes on sourdough with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes.
Coffee gets real attention here too, from cappuccinos to a London Fog for tea fans.
Hours run daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Service moves fast, there is outdoor seating, and dogs are allowed inside.
Free street parking is available, though Jerome’s hills make comfortable shoes a smart idea.
3. The Flatiron Café, Jerome, AZ

Shaped like a slice of pie, the brick flatiron building on Jerome’s Main Street is one of the most photographed corners in town. Inside is a quirky little cafe with art on display and a front-row view of the street.
Breakfast leans fresh and generous. The egg sandwich is stacked with fluffy eggs and chopped vegetables on good bread, and the breakfast salad and breakfast quesadilla are popular picks.
Gluten-free pastries and espresso drinks fill out the counter.
Prices land around 10 to 20 dollars per person. Freshly squeezed orange juice is a nice touch.
Plan around the schedule. The cafe is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday through Monday and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Parking nearby can be tricky, so arriving early helps.
4. Burger House, Miami, AZ

Opening at 5 a.m., Burger House is ready before most of the Globe-Miami copper district has its coffee poured. The small, family-owned counter spot on Live Oak Street has fed several generations of local families.
The name says burgers, but the breakfast burritos are the morning headliner. Tony’s breakfast special brings hash browns, eggs, cheese, crispy bacon, and homemade green chile together on one plate.
Green chile burros, bean and cheese burros, and a chile relleno smothered in green chile keep road trippers stopping on every pass through town. Burgers, tacos, tostadas, and fried fish cover lunch and dinner.
Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., with Sunday and Monday off. Service is counter style and quick, with free parking.
5. La Luz Del Dia, Globe, AZ

Globe started as a mining camp in the 1870s, and its Broad Street corridor still carries that history. La Luz Del Dia fits right in, a small diner with a home-kitchen feel and food cooked to order.
The menu mixes American breakfast with home-style Mexican dishes. Pozole, the Mike Burro, and the Bolinger Burro served enchilada style are standouts.
Expect good coffee and salsa with real heat.
The room is clean and casual, and service is quick and friendly.
Doors open at 6:30 a.m. every day. It stays open until 7 p.m.
Sunday through Tuesday and closes at 2 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Free parking is easy, and there is a kids’ menu.
6. Bellas Cafe on Main Street LLC, Superior, AZ

The drive into Superior along the Copper Corridor is half the fun, with rugged mountains framing the old Magma Mine town. Bellas Cafe sits on the historic Main Street inside an early 20th century storefront.
The kitchen leans American-Italian. Homemade pasta and meatballs anchor lunch, while breakfast and brunch bring avocado toast, coffee, and a strong tea lineup.
The Little Italy sandwich and Bellas Balls are house favorites.
A small marketplace adds local goods to browse, and the patio is a pleasant spot on a mild morning. Dogs are welcome.
Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Monday. Reservations are accepted.
Six towns, six tables, and plenty of copper history in between. Save this list for your next morning drive.
