Some restaurants hang a wreath by the door and call it a season. These four Ohio spots go much further, with trees, lights, old-fashioned Santas, and in one case, Christmas decor that never comes down at all.
The list mixes a famous historic inn, a mill with millions of lights, a small-town burger joint with a holiday pop-up, and a Columbus diner that treats every day like December 25. Save it for your next holiday outing, or send it to the friend who starts playing carols before Thanksgiving.
1. The Golden Lamb, Lebanon, OH

Few places in Ohio can match the history of a 19th-century inn that still serves dinner every night of the week. The Golden Lamb sits at 27 S Broadway St in downtown Lebanon, offering old-world guest rooms upstairs and an American restaurant and tavern below.
Come the holidays, the inn treats Christmas with real care. The dining rooms get dressed up with extensive decor, and the fireplace and Christmas tree become a favorite backdrop for family photos before or after the meal.
The decorations set the scene, but the menu and the full sit-down dining experience are the main reason to book a table. Lebanon itself joins in, with lights and decorations around town and an annual Christmas festival that draws locals and visitors alike.
Dinner runs until 9 PM Monday through Saturday and until 8 PM on Sunday. Call 513-932-5065 to plan a holiday visit, and give yourself time to stroll downtown afterward.
2. Historic Clifton Mill, Clifton, OH

Five million lights. That number alone explains why Historic Clifton Mill shows up on nearly every Ohio holiday list.
The property at 75 Water St is part restaurant and part history lesson. It includes a vintage mill, a covered bridge, and a 1940s-era gas station, all next to a casual American eatery known for its giant pancakes.
During the Christmas season, the whole place turns into a light display with a synchronized show set to music and a live Santa Claus. Families with young kids tend to love the collection of old-fashioned Santas and a workshop scene where Santa pops up through the chimney.
A practical note: the regular restaurant hours are daytime, 9 AM to 3 PM on weekdays and 8 AM to 4 PM on weekends, so check the website for special holiday light schedules before planning an evening trip. Reservations are not accepted, and weekends are the busiest, so a weekday visit is the calmer choice.
Plates run about $10 to $20 per person, and free parking is usually easy to find.
3. Hudson’s Restaurant, Hudson, OH

Every holiday season, Hudson’s Restaurant on North Main Street pulls a costume change. Its Christmas pop-up, called Blitzen, fills the room with so much decor that the space looks like a movie set.
Underneath the tinsel is a casual comfort food spot with a long list of burgers. Pot roast and the French Chicken Sandwich are menu highlights, and buffalo cauliflower and cheese curds make good starters for the table.
The service moves quickly, which helps on busy holiday weekends. Saturdays draw the biggest crowds, while Thursday nights tend to be quieter.
I like that this one accepts reservations, a real plus in December. Hours run 11 AM to 9 PM Monday through Wednesday and until 10 PM Thursday through Saturday, with Sundays closed.
Kids are welcome with a kids’ menu and high chairs, and free parking is available in a lot, a garage, and on the street around downtown Hudson.
4. Lois Mann’s Restaurant, Columbus, OH

Christmas never packs up at Lois Mann’s. This South High Street diner keeps its holiday decor out all year, so a plate of comfort food in July still comes with trees and lights.
The decorations are wild in the best way. Christmas trees fill the room, almost everything is lit, and animatronic figures add to the 1950s-style nostalgia.
The menu sticks to home-cooked comfort food, with cabbage rolls as a standout. There are also full vegetarian and vegan menus, which is rare for a classic diner.
Prices are friendly, usually around $1 to $10 per person. Hours are 7 AM to 3 PM Monday through Saturday, so think of this as an early dinner or a late lunch stop, and it is closed Sundays.
Reservations are accepted, and mornings late in the week get busy. Free parking makes it an easy detour at 1904 S High St.
