14 Pop-Tart Flavors That Were Surprisingly Great

Craving for some pop-tarts? Try these weird but surprisingly great flavors that you probably haven’t tried or heard of. From a root beer-like taste up to the pink lemonade. I’m sure you’ll be amazed by this list. 🥧

14. Chocolatey Strawberry

14. Chocolatey Strawberry

Let’s start with the Chocolate & Strawberry flavor. The outer layer is composed of lightly toasted graham crackers within the milk chocolate frosting. On the inside, it has a sweet taste with the strawberry jam. The strawberry bits give additional sweetness but not too much. I like how the combination of chocolate and strawberry complements each other.

13. ‘Mister E’ (Everything Bagel)

13. Mister E Everything Bagel

Next is Pop-Tart’s Mister E flavor. What makes it unique? It’s a limited-edition flavor! Way back in 2021, it was first launched, and people were really excited about it. This flavor is marketed as “Mister E” and to be more clear, try to shout the name louder and faster; you’ll thank me later. The taste? It has a taste of onion and cheesy garlic. Sometimes, people say it tastes like pizza. And the fun thing is you can scan the code, and you will be redirected to fun Trivias!

12. Hot Fudge Sundae

12. Hot Fudge Sundae

This next flavor is something that really excites me since it has a lot of things going on  – you’ll have chocolate toaster pastry with cocoa flavor, banana flavor, and vanilla filling, which I think makes the pop-tart more flavorful, and the sprinkles at the top. If you want to enjoy this better, try to put them in the freezer for a few minutes.

11. Banana Bread

11. Banana Bread

If you want a healthier flavor (probably) on this list, try this Banana Bread with icing on top and a candy-like banana flavor—the artificial ones. It’s good, but you’ll know that the flavor is somewhat different from what an actual banana tastes like. I like that it complements the brown crust bread—it somehow tastes like cinnamon, too!

10. Wild Berry

10. WildBerry

This next flavor is nothing special, but it is surprisingly flavorful! I like the sweetness of the wild berry-flavored filling with frosting and sprinkles. Just don’t look to much on the color of it, trust me, this Wild Berry flavor tastes so good. Others said it tastes like Trix cereal, though.

9. Eggo Frosted Maple

9. Eggo Frosted Maple

This could be one of the unique flavors on the list – Eggo Frosted Maple. It tastes like maple syrup in a single bite. Yes, it has a strong maple flavor, but it’s not something you’ve tasted in some pastry shop while having breakfast. I like how it looks different in other flavors, too. At first, it’s a bit weird, but when you have a taste, you’ll definitely like it.

8. Sugar Cookie / Brownie Batter

8. Sugar Cookie Brownie Batter

Next is the Brownie Batter/ Sugar Cookie. Confused? This pop-tart flavor is actually cool! On the left side, you have the sugar cookie flavor, and brownie batter on the right one. It’s like a 2-in-1, which gives this flavor kudos! For the flavor, it’s, of course, split in half.  The sugar cookie tastes like vanilla with buttercream, while the brownie batter somehow doesn’t have good feedback, “tastes like toothpaste,” others say. But yeah, what makes this unique is the 2-in-1 flavor and nothing else.

7. A&W Root Beer

7. AW Root Beer

A pop-tart or a beer? If you want both, the A&W Root Beer flavor is for you. It tastes like real root beer but is tailored to be more of a sweet option, complementing the crust bread. I like this collaboration with A&W, after all. Like the other flavors, it’s sprinkled and has icing. The inside is filled with sarsaparilla flavor, which others who haven’t had a taste of root beer will probably not like.

6. Watermelon

6. Watermelon

Another fruit flavor on this list is Watermelon—the pink and green icing on the top gives the pop-tart a bright and rich look, which people love! It’s a watermelon, but it tastes more sour than sweet. Overall, it looks nice and tastes good. It’s nothing special, but you’ll definitely want more.

5. Pumpkin Pie

5. Pumpkin Pie

This next flavor is a bit weird for me, I mean, Pumpkin Pie? At first, I really don’t want to taste it at all, but after having a bite, it’s quite the contrary, somehow this flavor is good and complements the bread and the white frosting. Like the ‘Mister E’, this flavor is not always available so make sure to get one if you have a chance. Like me, you might be surprised.

4. Orange Cream

4. Orange Cream

Try this next flavor if you want a taste of orange in your pop-tart. This orange cream comes with an artificial orange and a mix of creamy vanilla and white icing. It’s sweet but not too much. Just have a glass of water ready since too much of this pop-tart flavor could make you lose interest in the food. And yes, this is another limited-edition flavor that was first launched in 2009.

3. Jolly Rancher (Watermelon, Cherry, And Sour Apple)

3. Jolly Rancher Watermelon Cherry And Sour Apple

The next flavor on the list is the Jolly Rancher, which is composed of three limited flavors: watermelon, Cherry, and Sour Apple. Don’t get confused about the watermelon flavor that we discussed a while ago since this Jolly Rancher is completely different. Each has a sweet and sour taste of the respected flavor, and if you’re wondering why it’s three flavors, pop-tarts replicate the famous and iconic Jolly Rancher flavor.

2. Pink Lemonade

2. Pink Lemonade

This next item resembles the strawberry flavor we had at the beginning of the list due to its pink appearance. And yes, another limited edition that has a weird but flavorful taste! The pink lemonade taste complements the bubblegum-colored center. For a better experience, put it on a freezer for a few minutes and you’ll have a crunchier and tastier pink lemonade pop-tart.

1. Maple Bacon

1. Maple Bacon

Another maple flavor on our list, but with a bacon twist! This limited edition pop-tart from Kellogg’s is weird since it really has a bacon-like flavor despite not having real bacon (artificial only). I wonder how they did that. I’d say this maple bacon is much more flavorful than the Eggo Frosted Maple that we had on our 9th list.

If you’re still reading this, you probably are a big pop-tart lover. These weird but surprisingly nice flavors are a must-try. Just make sure to grab one, especially those limited-edition items!
