Change is coming for Habit Burger Grill as the brand finally embraces its true essence and place in the world of grilled flavors.
They say that when iconic brands change, they lose their soul. But for Habit Burger Grill, it’s different. The brand is stepping into its authentic self, doing the hard work to be consistent in its messaging and branding initiatives. This starts with a name change.

An exciting brand evolution is happening for Habit Burger Grill, who now prefers to be called Habit Burger & Grill. The fast-casual restaurant is embracing the ampersand that symbolizes its ability to go beyond offering best-tasting burgers. In reality, Habit Burger & Grill has always been about the extras that complete a superior dining experience. Besides chargrilled hamburgers, the restaurant also offers hand-spun milkshakes, chef-inspired sandwiches, crispy tempura green beans, and so much more.
Habit Burger & Grill’s Chief Marketing Officer, Jack Hinchcliffe, expressed that they have always been an “&” brand. The simple rebrand signifies their commitment to fresh, quality ingredients, diversity, and innovation. Likewise, the new brand name highlights the company’s focus on providing warm Southern California hospitality and the connections they have built with customers over the years.
The new brand name will be rolled out across different marketing materials, digital platforms, and packaging. Despite the name change, customers can still expect the full Habit Burger & Grill experience that they have always loved.
Popular Item Comebacks at Habit Burger & Grill
There’s something great about brands that carefully think about items they can bring back into the menu. Habit Burger & Grill just know what excites Habit fans; take a look at these products that were gone for a while but never forgotten:
French Onion Char
What’s for you comes back to you. Remember Habit Burger & Grill’s French Onion Char? You deserve its rich and savory flavors! The restaurant brought back this menu item in select US locations, pleasing fans of Habit and the classic French onion soup.
Available until supplies last, this burger features a chargrilled patty with layers of melted cheese, crispy onion rings, and caramelized onions. What makes it even better is the French onion sauce that’s savory with an undertone of sweetness.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake
This nostalgic sweet treat at Habit Burger & Grill is also making a comeback! This shake is an example of how the company continuously innovates and creates products that capture the hearts of customers. It features a heavenly combination of vanilla ice cream and Cinnamon Toast cereal crunch. So, if this doesn’t give you a sweet tooth and crunchy goodness, I don’t know what will!
The Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake is available for a limited time only, so you should grab it while you still can.

Other Restaurants That Underwent a Brand Refresh
Habit Burger & Grill is just one of many brands that rebranded in order to adapt to new market trends. Here are some popular food places known to have evolved:
BurgerFi
Back in May 2024, BurgerFi rebranded to ChickenFi, joining the chicken revolution with a bunch of new product offerings. The rebrand was only temporary and happened following a successful launch of new chicken menu items. The BurgerFi name remained on the restaurant’s building in Brooklyn Station.
ChickenFi’s menu includes Fried and Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, Chicken Tenders, Grilled Chicken Bowls, and Jumbo Chicken Wings. The lineup takes pride in using fresh, antibiotic-free, and cage-free chickens.
IHOP
At one point, International House of Pancakes (IHOP) rebranded itself as International House of Burgers (IHOB) to create a buzz around its burger line and make a statement about its diverse menu.
When the chain wanted to draw customers back to its breakfast business, it reverted back to its original name. But to this day, IHOP still offers ultimate steakburgers for a filling and satisfying meal.

From The Club
It takes a lot of courage to make a change, regardless if it’s a simple or complex one. I applaud Habit Burger & Grill for taking a step closer to its true nature. As a Habit burger fan, I have always enjoyed their charburgers, especially the BBQ Bacon Char with Cheese. Just recently though, I started noticing their fresh salads lineup. The Santa Barbara Cobb is really looking great—might try that one soon!
