Prego, a brand owned by Campbell, which is popular with its sauces in jars, has introduced three new creamy pesto sauces in the market: Creamy Basil Pesto, Creamy Parmesan Pesto, and Creamy Roasted Garlic Pesto. These white cream-based pesto sauces are crafted with fresh basil pesto and has a unique combination of cheese and herbs in each sauce.

These sauces are new, versatile, and inspiring and can also be used as pizza toppings in vegetable sauce or hot spinach dip and as ham–cheese pocket sauce. Hence, they can also be quickly combined with any pasta shape you like for an instant dinner.
The 14.5-ounce jars of the Creamy Pesto Sauces will retail for $2.82 each and are available at retailers nationwide.
Discover the History of Campbell’s and Prego Spaghetti Sauce
The Campbell Soup Company was founded by Joseph A. Campbell and Abraham Anderson in 1869 in Camden, New Jersey, as a fruit merchant and icebox manufacturer, respectively. Campbell and Anderson teamed up to form a company whose main goal initially was to produce tomatoes, vegetables, and jellies, as well as soups and other condiments. By the early 20th century, Campbell’s had become a household name, famous for its condensed soup, which was created by chemist John T. Dorrance in 1897. This invention allowed the company to ship soup more efficiently and was a pivotal moment in the company’s success.
Campbell’s bought the Prego brand in 1981. Prego is a term for “please” or “you are welcome” in the Italian language. It gained a reputation for its thick, tasty, and rich tomato-based pasta sauces. What set it apart was that it had a thick sauce that would stick to other types of sauces than its rivals. This explains why, over the years, there have always been Prego products in American households due to keeping their innovation alive in taste and feel.

How to Use the New Pesto Sauces in Your Meals
The new creamy pestos from Prego do not just match well with pasta. There are a number of ways in which their rich herb taste fits in various dishes. A good idea could be to put Creamy Basil Pesto on top of your own cooked pizza instead of classical pie topping; this way, you will enjoy its unique flavors.” The distinct aroma of basil is felt in the crust while, at the same time, there is richness from its creaminess.
Pesto sauces can be combined with vegetables too. A simple vegetable dish becomes extremely good when you add Creamy Parmesan Pesto to it. You may mix the prepared sauce on the roasted vegetables or stir it into a spinach dip which has been steamed. So, this way of dressing your greens is both simple and delicious.
Lastly, a sandwich or a wrap would be better than a piece of Creamy Roasted Garlic Pesto. This can be made into a sauce and filled in a ham cheese pocket – there will be a deep garlic taste coming out of garlic initially baked in an oven, which is the perfect combination every time you eat it with cheese or meat! No matter how you use the sauces, the new Prego flavors add variety to your regular meals.
So, the next time you’re in the sauce aisle, keep an eye out for Prego’s new creamy pesto sauces and let your culinary creativity fly!
From The Club
There’s a saying I read: what makes good pasta is not the way the noodles are cooked but how the pasta is prepared. I somehow agree with this; I mean, I’ve tried to cook a simple pasta dish with expensive pasta before, but the taste is not that good (I’m not a chef though 😁). But what if we could find a way to make a consistently good pasta sauce? What if we could just purchase it at our local store? This is what makes Prego’s new pasta sauces so amazing! I can definitely enjoy a good pasta dish with these new food items. I am still not a cook, but I can make better pasta. Kudos, Prego!
