Many people are big fans of Trader Joe’s, and whenever they come out with something new (or bring back an old favorite), everyone gets excited.
Recently, Trader Joe’s introduced Pizza Party Potato Chips, and fans loved them so much that they bought three bags at once! And when they brought back the Lemon Flavored Mini Sheet Cake, people rushed to their local stores because it tends to sell out fast.
Now, there’s something else new from Trader Joe’s: a special store near Union Square in New York City.
Trader Joe’s New Pronto Store near Union Square, NYC
Trader Joe’s quietly opened a new store called Pronto near Union Square (close to the Strand Bookstore). It used to be a shop until it closed suddenly in 2022. There were rumors that it closed to prevent workers from forming a union.
Pronto is designed for people who want to grab food quickly, especially during lunchtime. It offers prepackaged sandwiches, salads, drinks, fresh fruit, cheese, meats, chips, dips, and other snacks for people on the go. They have salads and soups for $4.99 and salad kits for even less.
You can also stop by Pronto to pick up a few things for dinner, but keep in mind that they have a smaller selection than regular Trader Joe’s stores.
A TikTok user named evaknuds posted a video showing the new store, and there were hardly any lines. At the checkout, only one person was paying, and the rest of the store was pretty empty. Since it’s meant to be quick and convenient, this is probably what Trader Joe’s intended. We’re happy to have fewer lines!
Right now, this is the only Pronto store in New York City, and there’s no news about opening more anytime soon.
