Church’s Texas Chicken is turning up the heat with its debut Signature Hot Sauce. Collaborating with pepper growers seen on the Hulu series “Superhot: The Spicy World of Pepper People,” Church’s aimed to create a sauce that perfectly complements its renowned chicken.
Now offered at select Church’s Texas Chicken locations nationwide, the new Signature Hot Sauce combines heat and sweetness, featuring flavors of habanero peppers, red chilies, roasted garlic, and spices. Church’s Head Chefs Kevin Houston and Eric Stein worked with Bobby McFadden and Aurea de Guzman, experienced pepper growers and hot sauce enthusiasts featured on Hulu’s “Superhot: The Spicy World of Pepper People,” to craft this unique sauce.
The Signature Hot Sauce is an ideal addition to Church’s spicy menu and is included with meal options like the 8-Piece Spicy Bone-In Chicken or Tenders meal, accompanied by a large classic side, four jalapeño cheddar biscuits (known as Cheddapeño Biscuits), and one signature jalapeño, starting at $15.99. Customers can also choose the Texas 2-Piece Spicy Bone-In Chicken or Tenders meal, featuring a Cheddapeño Biscuit and one signature jalapeño, starting at $3.49 at participating locations.

A Texan Tradition: Church’s Texas Chicken Takes Flight
Church’s Texas Chicken, a well-known name in the fried chicken game, boasts a rich history dating back to 1952. Founded in San Antonio, Texas by George W. Church, the restaurant quickly gained a loyal following for its unique flavor profile. Church’s didn’t follow the typical fried chicken recipe. Instead, they used a special seasoning blend with a hint of black pepper, creating a flavor that was both crispy and flavorful.
Over the years, Church’s Texas Chicken expanded across the United States, staying true to its Texan roots and commitment to delicious, high-quality fried chicken. Today, Church’s is a favorite for families and friends looking for a satisfying and flavorful meal.
The “Superhot” Collaboration: Church’s Heats Up Its Menu
Church’s Texas Chicken is known for its crispy chicken, but they’re not afraid to add a kick! This year, they collaborated with some special partners to create a new condiment for spice lovers – the Signature Hot Sauce.
The inspiration for this fiery sauce came from the Hulu series “Superhot: The Spicy World of Pepper People.” This show dives into the world of chili peppers and the people who grow and love them. Church’s partnered with some of the show’s stars, experienced pepper growers Bobby McFadden and Aurea de Guzman, to develop a hot sauce that perfectly complements their famous chicken.
Sweet Heat Symphony: Unveiling the Signature Hot Sauce
So, what exactly is in this new Signature Hot Sauce? The key is a delicious balance of heat and sweetness. The base features red chili peppers, which provide a solid kick, balanced by the subtle sweetness of habanero peppers. Roasted garlic adds a touch of savory depth, while a blend of spices rounds out the flavor profile.
This isn’t just a standalone sauce – it’s designed to elevate your Church’s Texas Chicken experience. The Signature Hot Sauce is available with specific menu options, like the 8-piece Spicy Bone-In Chicken or Tenders meal. This meal comes with a large side, four of their famous jalapeño cheddar biscuits (also known as Cheddapeño® Biscuits), and a signature jalapeño pepper, all for a starting price of $15.99. For those who want a lighter option, the Texas 2-Piece Spicy Bone-In Chicken or Tenders meal includes a Cheddapeño® Biscuit and jalapeño pepper, starting at $3.49.
