Are we in summer season yet? Clearly, no, but it seems like restaurants everywhere are celebrating the change of season early. Joining the likes of Dunkin, Red Robin, and Hardee’s (to name a few), Denny’s comes out with a new lineup of summer specials! Meanwhile, Mellow Mushroom, a stone-baked pizza brand in Atlanta, is giving pizza and panini lovers a mashup they thought they didn’t need. Nick the Greek is also ready to serve new salads that are “dressed to impress.” So for the freshest summer flavors, check out these new menu releases!
Denny’s Summer Specials
In case you missed it: Denny’s is celebrating summer’s best flavors with a new lineup of dishes! As always, the restaurant finds a way to offer the best value to guests, so these new items are perfect for sharing a meal without breaking the bank. There’s something for everyone as the new lineup features sweet, savory, and tangy flavors.
Here are the summer items to look out for:
- Bacon Ranch Cheeseburger (NEW) – This burger is loaded with 100% beef patty, Applewood-smoked bacon, aged white cheese, and creamy ranch. It also comes with fresh flavors from lettuce, red onion, tomato, and pickles. All these are served on a brioche bun, with wavy-cut fries on the side.
- Red, White & Berry Pancake Slam (NEW) – Pancake lovers, this one’s for you! Enjoy buttermilk pancakes with strawberries, whipped cream, and cream cheese icing on top. These are served with hash browns, two eggs, and your choice of bacon or sausage.
- Strawberry Sparkler (NEW) – For a refreshing drink, try this house-made blend of lime and strawberry, topped with lemon-lime Sprite.
- Cookie Dough Lover’s Pie (NEW) – Get ready to be transported to dessert heaven with this warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie dough on a pie crust, topped with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of salted caramel.
- Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich – Here’s another sandwich you shouldn’t miss, featuring golden-fried chicken breast, layered with Applewood-smoked bacon, aged white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and ranch dressing, served on a grilled artisan bread. This also comes with wavy-cut fries on the side.
Now let’s talk about getting more value at Denny’s. The brand extended its Buy One Slam, Get One for $1 deal until June 8th, so you can buy one Original Grand Slam or All-American Slam and get the second one for only $1! Mellow Mushroom’s New Panizzis
Mellow Mushroom, an Atlanta favorite for unwinding and devouring stone-baked pizza, continues to evolve as a brand. The multi-state franchise recently opened a prototype location in Atlanta’s walkable Beltline, and it’s the perfect place to get the latest scoop on Mellow Mushroom’s menu, technology, and design. This Atlanta location is also where you can find an exclusive new menu category: panizzis!
A panizzi is exactly what you think it is—a combination of panini and pizza. It’s a melty hand-held option featuring the brand’s signature pizza dough, bold flavors, premium cheeses, fresh veggies, and meats. Your panizzi options include the following:
- Chicken Pesto Panizzi – Made with chicken, garlic ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, tangy peppers, roasted tomatoes, arugula, garlic, pesto, and olive oil.
- Steez Steak Panizzi – This item features a combination of steak, spicy pickled peppers, provolone, grilled veggies, and garlic ricotta.
- Mega Meatball – For meat lovers, try this panizzi loaded with beef and chicken meatballs, provolone, pepperoni, parmesan, mozzarella, arugula, pesto, and the Mellow red sauce.
- Shroomin – This item combines roasted mushroom trio with white cheddar, parmesan, mozzarella, caramelized onions, garlic ricotta, arugula, and truffle oil.
The unique pizza/sandwich crossover from Mellow Mushroom can only be found at Atlanta’s Grant Park location. This prototype location is also a must-visit to witness the evolved guest experience from the brand.
Nick the Greek’s Tahini Crunch Salad and Chopped Salad
Nick the Greek, a Northern California-born chain known for authentic Greek street food, is offering two exciting menu items: Tahini Crunch Salad and Chopped Salad. The launch of these new items comes at a time when there’s a growing demand for lighter and ingredient-driven meals.
Here’s what you can expect from the new salad innovations, available now at all Nick the Greek locations nationwide:
- Tahini Crunch Salad – This salad offers a mix of crisp romaine and kale tossed in a tahini dressing. Persian cucumbers, pickled onions, and grape tomatoes are also included in the mix, finished with spicy harissa, hummus, chimichurri, pita crunch, fried chickpeas, and fresh basil.
- Chopped Salad – Meanwhile, this salad combines romaine, Persian cucumbers and grape tomatoes with pickled onions and green bell peppers. For a Mediterranean twist, Kalamata olives, feta, chickpeas, lemon zest dressing, green onions, and pita chips are included in the vibrant mix.
You can get the Tahini Crunch Salad for $12.50, while the Chopped Salad is priced at $11.95. As per the brand, these salads started as a passion project, but now they can proudly stand alongside their core menu. Guests can enjoy these new salad offerings with other fan-favorites at Nick the Greek, including gyros, souvlaki, and traditional Greek desserts.

The summer hasn’t officially started but it’s getting kind of hard to keep up with all these menu releases, lol! The panizzi from Mellow Mushroom sounds intriguing and looks divine, and it’s something I’d love to try as a pizza lover. Hopefully, this becomes available in other locations. Denny’s and Nick the Greek also have crave-worthy new offerings. Although they’re targeting different markets, both are committed to elevating the dining experience.
