Crumbl Tests Two New Cakes in Select Stores

Crumbl just came out with a Father’s Day Toffee Cake last week and now the brand is back with not one—but two—new cakes that look just as good! This week, Crumbl Cookies introduced two more test products in the decadent forms of a German Chocolate Cake and a Lemon Blackberry Cake.

Crumbls New German Chocolate Cake 2
The new German Chocolate Cake and Lemon Blackberry Cake from Crumbl

A traditional German Chocolate Cake is known for its soft layers of buttermilk cake and “coconutty” toppings. However, based on the photo, the brand seems to have put the Crumbl spin on the traditional version that we’re all familiar with. Crumbl’s version features two layers of moist chocolate cake with creamy coconut-pecan topping and the addition of a rich chocolate cream cheese frosting. This treat definitely combines traditional elements with the fresh twist that the cookie brand is famous for.

The Lemon Blackberry Cake, on the other hand, looks a little more like a cake version of Crumbl’s Lemon Blackberry Cookie that the brand came out with about two years ago. It seems to have the same components too as this one has two layers of lemon poppy seed cake with blackberry cream cheese frosting and jammy blackberry topping. It sounds a lot like the cookie, but instead, it’s cake.

These new cakes are currently being tested in select locations. However, fans can look forward to a future nationwide release of these goodies, considering there is already a lot of positive buzz around them, especially the German Chocolate Cake.

What Fans Are Saying

Fans are definitely excited about these test releases, particularly with social media comments focusing on how incredible the German Chocolate Cake looks. However, with all of these cake reveals, people also feel like Crumbl Cookies might effectively be turning into “Crumbl Cakes,” a fan joked in the comment section.

Then, there are also those who point out how a traditional German Chocolate Cake does not have cream cheese frosting. Understandably, this is because German Chocolate Cake is a classic American dessert that is already great in its own right, and adding to it might be seen as unnecessary.

Even so, there is reason to believe that both the German Chocolate Cake and the Lemon Blackberry Cake could be available for everyone to try and taste very soon, considering Crumbl has had a good streak in terms of Crumbl-fying classic treats.

From The Club

That “Crumbl Cakes” joke that a fan made on social media is quite funny. But really, I’m not complaining. Variety is great! That German Chocolate Cake sounds a little weird with the cream cheese frosting but that doesn’t mean I won’t try it!
