Step One: Bake the Cake

Preheat the oven to 350℉ and spray a 9 x 13-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine the vanilla cake mix, butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Do not overmix.

Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for at least 10 minutes.
