Cracker Barrel Old Country Store continues to establish itself as a premium restaurant serving great food and customer-centric upgrades. They are introducing a major menu revamp with new items and operational improvements with the goal to enhance both guest and employee experiences.
In line with these upgrades, Cracker Barrel is testing their largest menu lineup to continuously offer great food to customers. This test features new flavor creations like Cinnamon Bread French Toast, plus new entrees like Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd’s Pie, available in 14 Cracker Barrels in select Texas locations namely; Abilene, Allen, Amarillo, Arlington, Benbrook, Cypress, Houston, Kingwood, Lubbock, Midland, Weatherford and Wichita Falls.
Biggest Menu Overhaul
This major menu test will include an estimate of 20 new items featuring a new menu design making it easier for guests to choose while having less recipe complexity for employees. Some menu highlights from the test are:
- Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd’s Pie: Slow-simmered pot roast that includes carrots, peas, mashed potatoes, and a hashbrown casserole crust, with sour cream on top. This pie comes with a choice of hand-rolled buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins.
- Green Chile Cornbread: Treat yourself to a cheesy green chile cornbread drizzled with honey and whipped butter on top.
- Chicken n’ Dumplin Soup: Enjoy homestyle dumplings that has shredded chicken, celery, carrots, and onions in a savory broth.
- Cinnamon Bread French Toast: A cinnamon streusel bread hand-dipped in the restaurant’s signature batter, and griddled golden brown. This toast is topped with cinnamon and cream cheese icing and served with two eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage.
- Banana Pudding: Reminiscent of homestyle cooking, this pudding comes with layers of crushed vanilla wafers, bananas, whipped cream, and caramel sauce.
Weekend Specials
Besides their daily specials, Cracker Barrel also offers weekend specials that customers can enjoy at select locations nationwide. Here’s a list of items you can treat yourself to, at Cracker Barrel this coming weekend:
- Saturday: Enjoy Cracker Barrel’s Southern BBQ Ribs, slowly cooked St. Louis-style ribs with sweet brown sugar BBQ sauce, and served with two Country Sides and a choice of buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins.
- Sunday: Cracker Barrel offers Sunday’s Best featuring new savory Chicken n’ Rice – a baked chicken breast with creamy mushroom gravy over seasoned rice, comes with two Country Sides and a choice of buttermilk biscuits or cornbread muffins.
Limited Time Offer
Guests can enjoy the menu trial at 14 Cracker Barrel locations in select Texas communities, including cities like Houston, Amarillo, and Lubbock, from June through August 5, 2024. This major menu test also includes around 20 new items, an optimized menu with a new look, and simplified recipes for team members, making the customer experience smoother more enjoyable.

Cracker Barrel’s Summer Menu
Cracker Barrel heats up summer with the recent launch of their very own summer menu, but don’t worry, this lineup is available at all locations! The forerunners – Bee Sting Chicken Tenders and Bee Sting Chicken Sandwich features a house-made sauce that strikes the perfect balance between heat and honey sweetness.
- New! Bee Sting Chicken Tenders (starts at $12.99): Enjoy Cracker Barrel’s signature tenders with a bit of sweetness! These crispy, hand-breaded chicken tenders are matched with a delectable sweet-heat honey glaze. These are served with two country sides of your choice and hand-rolled buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins.

From The Club
It seems like Cracker Barrel wants to sweep Texas residents off their feet with the largest menu test in the Barrel’s history. I can’t fathom releasing 20 new test items in one go, but we’re talking about Cracker Barrel here, so I guess that’s not far from possible. I just hope this lineup will get the thumbs-up and will be released on all locations, soon. I’m super interested in the Cinnamon Bread French Toast, but as much as I want to have it this weekend, I can’t drive to Texas to have one. So, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a nationwide release soon!
