Cracker Barrel’s Biggest Menu Test Yet
If you vividly remember, Cracker Barrel held a huge menu test last June, and the Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd’s Pie was a part of it. Yes, this new fall-inspired dish was tested in select Crack Barrel locations in Texas a month and a half ago.
With the release of Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd’s Pie this Fall, we’re hoping that its batchmates from the previous test will also appear in Crack Barrel’s menu, soon. Let’s take a look at Cracker Barrel’s previous menu items in testing:

- Green Chile Cornbread: Your breakfast is made better with a serving of this cheesy green chile cornbread, drizzled with honey and whipped butter as toppings.
- Chicken n’ Dumplin Soup: This is an ideal meal entreé, thanks to its homestyle dumplings with shredded chicken, celery, carrots, and onions in a delicious broth.
- Cinnamon Bread French Toast: This would be a perfect breakfast item this coming fall season. Cinnamon streusel bread dipped in Cracker Barrel’s batter and toasted until golden brown. It’s completed with cinnamon and cream cheese icing, then served with two eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage.
- Banana Pudding: Reminiscent of homestyle cooking, this pudding came with layers of crushed vanilla wafers, bananas, whipped cream, and caramel sauce. Perfect for cozy afternoon desserts!
Though the test ended yesterday, August 5, 2024, we’re still crossing our fingers that we’ll soon get to taste these items at a nearby Cracker Barrel. Just like how the Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd’s Pie has debuted this coming Fall season.

If you’re not a fan of Pumpkin Spice, don’t worry, you’ll still enjoy the Fall season with Cracker Barrel‘s apple-infused food and beverages. Fall is one of my favorite seasons, along with the comforting flavors that come with it. But I also recognize that Pumpkin Spice is not the only flavor that represents fall, that’s why Cracker Barrel’s Fall lineup is a must-try for me this year. I may be part of the 87% that likes Apple so you can count me in once this menu drops.
