Get ready to defend your beds and island bases, Fortnite fans, as a new map is coming your way!
Fortnite has teamed up with San Antonio fast food chain Whataburger to hold a live tournament called “Breakfast in Bedwars” for their fans. The game will feature a newly launched Whataburger-themed Bedwars map, and the winning teams will receive a $25,000 total worth of prizes.
Known for their burgers and breakfast menu items, Whataburger ventures into the gaming world as the Breakfast in Bedwars game is based on Fortnite’s popular game mode called Bedwars, where players get to defend their beds and island bases by striking an attack to their opponents.
The key features of the special game collaboration include:
- Whataburger Customs: Teams get to defend Whataburger’s beds on different restaurant island bases.
- Whataguy: Whataburger’s official mascot, Whataguy, enters the game as a non-player character (NPC).
- Game Power-ups: The game will feature Whataburger-inspired “Consumables” such as Breakfast on a Bun for health restoration, Hot Coffee as shields, Spicy Ketchup for speed boosting, and Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit as a high-risk, high-reward item.
- Interactive Elements: Players can earn boosts by walking on a Whataburger tray or jumping off a Whataburger Breakfast Burger and interacting with Iced coffee cups.
The tournament will take place on July 17, where the top 16 captains get to lead their teams in a single elimination. The top 4 teams who will place would get to compete for the team places.
As for the rewards, it would amount to $25,000, where the first-place winning team would get to take home a shared $10,000 grand prize. There would be additional rewards and recognition for the other top-performing teams to be announced soon.

How To Join The Breakfast in Bedwars Tournament?
Get your pens and paper ready, and make sure to write every detail to have a chance to protect your base. The Bedwars updated map officially launched last July 8, along with the Whataburgers-themed map. Just enter the island code 6619-8313-5969 to access the map.
Next, you would need to bring your Fortnite game skills to X (formerly Twitter). Using the hashtag #BreakfastInBedWars, post your best gameplay clips from July 8 to 15, 2024. You would have the chance to choose your own team members. The top 16 best gameplays would get the opportunity to show off their skill in the tournament!
Players must be 13 years of age and older and must reside in the US to qualify. Players under 18 will be asked to submit a parental request form. If this ticks all the boxes, then you have a chance to join the tournament.

We often get news from our favorite fast food restaurants about their new releases and promo deals to keep guests coming back for more, but the collaboration between Whataburger and Fortnite takes a different spin as it involves a crossover between gaming and branding.
