McDonald’s Canada just brought back an amazing limited-time McFlurry! The question is, will we ever get it in the United States?
The McFlurry is, without a doubt, one of the best fast-food desserts of all time. That’s just a fact—plain and simple. It’s been a staple in the industry and McDonald’s menu ever since it was first introduced back in 1995. It started out as the classic Oreo-flavored McFlurry but has since expanded to introduce a wide variety of flavors. Some of them get a wide release while some of them are region exclusive. Which brings us to the returning McFlurry at McDonald’s Canada.
The Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry is making waves in Canada when it recently returned in McDonald’s menu. It was originally released last year in 2023 and hasn’t made an appearance outside of Canada. This popular item has all the makings of a classic McFlurry: the creamy vanilla soft serve base, swirled chunks of chewy cookie dough, sprinkled with colorful confetti candy pieces, and drizzled with chocolate syrup. It’s an indulgent dessert with a hint of nostalgia that will take you back to simpler times. Definitely one of the highlights this summer on McDonald’s menu.
So, will we ever get this in the United States? Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether the Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry will make it from across the border. While we did have the Grandma McFlurry as a great US exclusive, we’re still holding out hope that we’ll get a taste of the Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry. Australia also had its fair share of unique McFlurry flavors. The best one to come out from the land down under is the Bubblegum Squash McFlurry. It’s a unique and whimsical flavor that combines McDonald’s own bubblegum syrup and colorful marshmallows with their famous McFlurry vanilla soft-serve. There’s a huge burst of sweetness with every bite and it turned out to be one of the best McFlurry flavors of all time.

What’s New at McDonald’s?
We may not have the Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry here but there’s still plenty of new stuff coming in from McDonald’s. In fact, we’re getting our own new McFlurry flavor as part of their summer menu. Apart from that, we’re also getting a delicious new burger.
Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese
First tested around select locations at Maryland back in the fall of 2021, this new menu item is finally getting a wide release this summer. If you’re looking for something smoky and savory to munch on, this is the prefect burger for you. It features McDonald’s classic 100% fresh beef patty, two slices of American cheese, the brand new smoky sauce, thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, fresh Roma tomatoes, and shredded lettuce all nestled between two toasted sesame seed buns. It’s a great menu addition and just might be the best burger to come out this season.
KitKat Banana Split McFlurry
The McFlurry is at its best when you combine its versatile flavor with another item with a distinct taste; preferably something sweet like fruits, chocolate, or cookies. So this new summer dessert is a recipe for success. The KitKat Banana Split McFlurry is a mind blowing combination of two limited-edition McFlurry flavors that have been released before: the KitKat McFlurry and the Banana Split McFlurry. It’s absolutely indulgent and might be just as good as the Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry.

Did you know that the original Oreo McFlurry was actually invented by a Canadian McDonald’s franchisee named Ron McLellan? That’s right! The iconic dessert we all know and love actually originated in Canada. So I guess it’s okay they’re getting another cookie-based flavor of the McFlurry. That said, the Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry sounds really good. Based on people’s reviews, they can’t get enough of the stuff. I’m really hoping that someday, McDonald’s in the U.S. would actually offer up other regional and exclusive McFlurry flavors. Even if it’s just for a week or two.
