Milestones and Moments of Krystal
Krystal has been a witness to winning football teams, but of course, they have their own winning moments too!
Did you know that the first Krystal order was made in 1932? The first order consists of six Krystal hamburgers and a cup of coffee for 35 cents. 1932 marked the first few years of the Great Depression, and it was when Rody Davenport and Glenn Sherril founded Krystal in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Another cool fact about Krystal is that they became a part of singer and actor Elvis Presley’s early years in the industry. It was when Elvis got his first radio airtime! After his broadcast, he ordered a hundred sliders from a downtown Krystal restaurant for pickup. Soon enough, a crown went by to see Elvis, so he handed out the sliders to his fans.
And if you’re craving for some sliders, past US President Ronald Reagan once called on the restaurant for a mission to cure his Krystal cravings. The mission? Deliver 120 cheese Krystals, 40 regular fries, and 35 shakes before President Reagan’s plane flew. Krystal set up a unique kitchen with two portable grills and fries prepared at the airport’s kitchen.
Fast forward to today, Krystal enjoys 94 years of flipping sliders! They have served over 10 billion sliders recorded in 2020. Now, Krystal aims to serve 10 billion more of their sliders to the world. Who doesn’t love their sliders? The grilled patties complement well with the diced onions, mustard, and dill pickle filling. They are the perfect on-the-go snacks!
