Hamburger Helper Is Making Some Big Changes

Hamburger Helper, the classic quick dinner option, is going through a makeover. This boxed meal has been a go-to for people who want a fast and cost-friendly home-cooked dinner. Typically, Hamburger Helper includes dry pasta or rice along with seasonings. You can make it your own by adding your favorite meat, some dairy, and fresh vegetables. And, it’s usually quite a bargain—you might find a box for just a few dollars at your local grocery store or retailer.

In 2022, Eagle Foods took charge of Hamburger Helper from General Mills and they’ve just updated the meals. There are 30 different kinds of Hamburger Helper that have been improved to make dinner time even easier. Preparing these one-pan meals is faster than before, with cooking times reduced by about 15%.

Eagle Foods didn’t stop with just making them quicker to cook. They altered the sauces, pasta, and flavorings based on what people said they wanted. Now, the meals will have richer tastes and seasonings across all the varieties. Plus, they’ve managed to do all this while keeping prices low. We checked out prices and found boxes for as little as $1.79 at Target and $2.63 at Walmart, though costs might be different where you are.
