For years, Huddle House has been serving us up with some of the best home-style food you could possibly have. Ever since they first opened up in 1964, Huddle House has grown into one of the best casual dining restaurants today. They’ve released several great items over the years but their latest just might be their greatest. Huddle House took their classic waffles and turned it into something even better.
Huddle House has just introduced the exciting new MVP Waffle Tacos to elevate their breakfast menu. Starting on September 4, 2024, you can get either the Maple Butter MVP Taco or the Sausage Gravy MVP Taco. A Waffle Taco is literally at it sounds like; a waffle shaped like a taco. But Huddle House’s Waffle Taco is filled with all of our favorite breakfast food. They’re the perfect handheld breakfast options especially when you’re on the go. So, let’s take a look at each of the new items.
Maple Butter MVP Taco
First up, we got the Maple Butter MVP Taco. This is made of a golden waffle filled with Applewood smoked bacon or country sausage, scrambled eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, and a drizzle of their famous house-made maple butter sauce. It’s a nice twist on the classic waffle and combines classic breakfast flavors together in a handheld version. It’s a fresh new twist that might be exactly what we need to make breakfast interesting again.
Sausage Gravy MVP Taco
Next, we have here the Sausage Gravy MVP Taco. Like the Maple Butter MVP Taco, it features a golden waffle as the base. It’s filled with either country sausage or Applewood smoked bacon, scrambled eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, and a drizzle of savory sausage gravy. It’s designed to give you a whole new breakfast experience but using comforting and familiar breakfast items. Everything in it ties together to create a distinct blend of flavors that will surely remind you of traditional Southern breakfasts.
These MVP Waffle Tacos are definitely welcome new additions to Huddle House’s menu! They are available as platters that can come with your choice of either tots or crispy hashbrowns, alongside homestyle grits, biscuits and sausage gravy, or seasonal fruit. If you’re ever at Huddle House, these are the best items on their menu that you absolutely need to try. The MVP Waffle Tacos should still be your top priority, but if you want something else, you can’t go wrong with these choices. Here are two of the best things to order at Huddle House.
Strawberry Waffle
Of course, no trip to Huddle House without trying their signature waffles. While the Golden Waffle is also a good choice, the Strawberry Waffle has a little more to it that make it better. On the surface, it looks just like a strawberry topped waffle with whipped topping. While yes it is simple, it’s more than that. The waffle itself is golden-brown that has a very crispy exterior but a soft airy interior. This contrast makes Huddle House’s waffles one of the best in the business. The strawberry puree and the dollop of whipped cream adds sweetness and creaminess that elevate the whole dish into something more.
Southern Style Benedict
Huddle House also has their own unique take on traditional Eggs Benedict. They took the best parts of the classic breakfast dish and essentially combined them with elements of Southern comfort food. The Southern Style Benedict has two eggs over easy, two stripes of bacon and diced ham smothered with hollandaise sauces served on crispy sourdough toast. Waffle Tacos are one of the latest breakfast innovations that I never thought we needed. Of course, people have already tried using waffles before as a makeshift taco shell to fit in other food. But we’ve never seen them actually get a real menu treatment. Huddle House decided to take this concept and ran with it to make the MVP Waffle Tacos. You really can’t go wrong with either option but personally, I’m more drawn to the Sausage Gravy MVP Taco.
