We're diving into the world of Jack in the Box and their ever so delish Curly Fries! 🍟 Have you ever wondered how they get those fries so perfectly crispy and full of flavor? Well, guess what? We got the goods.

The ingredients are simple and prep isn't too difficult.

We'll also talk about the secret behind those awesome curls and the spices that give these fries their kick. Plus, I'll share some tips to make sure your fries come out perfect every time.

Make them in bulk and you can freeze a batch for later.

  • Potato Spiral Cutter
  • 2 russet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon pepper
  • ½ tablespoon paprika
  • ½ tablespoon cumin
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon chili powder
  • ketchup (to taste)
  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Using a spiralizer, spiralize the potatoes.
  3. Spread the potatoes evenly in one single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle the oil over the potatoes and sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, and chili powder.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until crispy.

  6. Toss with some extra seasoning while hot. Serve with your favorite Jack's sauce.

Russet potatoes: Russet or Idaho potatoes are the best for making curly fries because they’re really starchy. You can leave the skin on just like the curly fries from Arby’s, or you can peel them if you want. Just make sure to wash them well and cut off the ends so they fit in the spiralizer better. You can also use sweet potatoes if you like.

Spiralizer: I really like using my OXO spiralizer for making things like curly fries, but any strong spiralizer that sits on the counter will work. For this recipe, you’ll need a blade that makes cuts about 1/4-inch thick, which is often called the “fettuccine” blade.  I chose a really popular spiralizer on Amazon if you click on the link.

Oil for frying: Use an oil that doesn’t have much flavor and can be heated up a lot without smoking, like canola, vegetable, peanut, or grapeseed oil. These are the best for frying.  Grapeseed is my favorite, and the most healthy.

How much it makes: This recipe for homemade curly fries will give you enough for four big servings, with each serving being about 2 cups.

How to keep them: If you have any curly fries left over, put them in the fridge in a container with a lid for up to 4 days. When you want to warm them up again, the easiest way is to use an air fryer, but you can also use an oven.
