Krispy Kreme has just introduced a new doughnut to celebrate the upcoming total solar eclipse. They’re calling it the Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut. This special treat is available for a few days only—from Friday, April 5 through Monday, April 8, 2024.
This unique doughnut is made from the classic Original Glazed Doughnut that Krispy Kreme is known for. It’s dipped in a rich black chocolate icing and decorated with shiny silver sprinkles. The inside is filled with a yummy buttercream that’s mixed with pieces of Oreo cookies. Plus, it’s all topped off with a whole Oreo cookie right in the middle.
You can get this special doughnut in Krispy Kreme stores, or you can order it for pickup or delivery through their app and website. But remember, they’re only around while supplies last. They’re sold on their own or in a special dozen that includes six Total Solar Eclipse Doughnuts and six Original Glazed Doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme has a history of making special doughnuts for space events. They made one for the 2017 solar eclipse and others for NASA’s Apollo 11 Mission launch, the Mars mission in 2021, and the Artemis Moon mission in 2022.
