Dave & Buster’s Entertainment Inc., which also owns Main Event, is making some changes to its food and drinks menu. They’re trying to improve things, they said on Tuesday.
The bosses at the company in Coppell, Texas, talked about how they want to make the food and service better.
Our company hasn’t been doing as well lately,” said Chris Morris, who is the CEO of Dave & Buster’s. “But we’re working hard to make things better by improving the food and service.”
Morris said they are making changes to the menu in different steps and also to how they serve the food.
“In the first few months of trying out these changes, we’ve seen some good results,” Morris said. “We’re now trying out the next step in ten of our stores, and we’re going to share it with all our stores by April 15.”
They are hoping that these changes will make people spend more money when they visit Dave & Buster’s.
They’ve also been trying out new looks for their stores. They started about nine months ago in Friendswood, Texas. They’ve tried out new looks in eight more stores since then.
“These new looks are making more people come to our stores and spend more money,” Morris said. “We’re planning to make changes to about 40 to 45 stores by the end of next year.”
Even though fewer people are visiting their stores lately, once people come in, they are still spending about the same amount of money as before, said Michael Quartieri, who is the chief financial officer.
“We’re keeping an eye on what people want, and we’re offering special deals when we need to,” Morris said. “We’re also going to announce some new deals soon that we think people will like.”
In the last few months of last year, Dave & Buster’s made $36.2 million in profit, which is a bit less than the year before. But overall, they made more money last year than the year before.
They opened six new stores last year and have plans for more in the future, both in the U.S. and internationally.
