STARRY®, a tasty soda bursting with lemon-lime flavor, is joining forces with basketball in a unique way. As the official soft drink of the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League, STARRY® is teaming up with rapper Lil Durk to bring an exciting basketball skills competition, called STARRY FIZZ FEST, to college campuses.
Students at four HBCUs—Norfolk State University, Hampton University, Jackson State University, and Morgan State University—will have the chance to win over $333,000 in scholarships and prizes. This includes an opportunity for one student to secure an NIL deal and become a face of STARRY®, with perks like an all-expenses-paid trip to the Kia NBA Tip-Off. Lil Durk will make a surprise appearance to support and check out the competition.
STARRY® is also partnering with the PepsiCo Foundation to offer $80,000 in scholarships across these universities. Each university will have one student awarded $20,000 to support their education.
STARRY FIZZ FEST will kick off at Norfolk State University on March 29, followed by other universities on different dates. Students can compete in games like S-T-A-R-R-Y, 3PT Knockout, and Shaky Shot to win prizes such as STARRY® merch and gift cards. The fastest participant to spell out S-T-A-R-R-Y will win.
