Dairy Queen fans are in for a sweet pink treat as the brand tests a new flavor for its dipped cone!
In the ever-expanding world of desserts, dipped cones are considered a natural treasure for their simplicity and nostalgic charm. There’s a balance of texture from the soft serve and hardened shell. Plus there are a variety of flavors to choose from that will give you sugar rush and happy hormones. The latest flavor to expect is coming from the world-famous Dairy Queen. Its iconic cone with the curl on top might turn pink vanilla soon!

Based on a reliable source, Dairy Queen is rumored to be testing the Cotton Candy dipped cone. This time, it’s in the lovely shade of pink! Fans are now curious if Dairy Queen is going to revive a discontinued flavor with a new look. In 2020, the Cotton Candy dipped cone in blue color was released, and this year, a few locations are selling a pink variant. This had fans thinking if Dairy Queen only made changes to the color and not the taste.
Back in May, Dairy Queen also reportedly tested a Cookie-monster inspired dipped cone featuring actual cookies and cream pieces in the dip. Are we going to get two new flavors for the dipped cone any time soon? Get the latest updates by checking our future food news articles.
Dipped Cone Flavors We Need Back from Dairy Queen
With new dipped cone flavors expected to come to Dairy Queen locations, some fans are reminiscing about discontinued variations that could have stayed longer. Some of them are known as seasonal offerings so fingers crossed for their comeback!
- Churro Dipped Cone: Wouldn’t it be great to have this as a returning item for Dairy Queen’s fall menu? This flavor features sweet and spiced goodness from the cinnamon-sugar topping and an irresistible crunch from the churro-flavored cone coating. The Churro Dipped Cone was previously released as part of a summer menu lineup, likely because churro is known as a summer treat that pairs well with ice cream.
- Fruity Blast Dipped Cone: This treat screams spring time with its lilac hue and fruity flavor. The Fruity Blast Dipped Cone was inspired by the fruity cereals we had from childhood, creating a nostalgic effect. Some of those who were able to try said that it tasted like Froot Loops.
- Cherry Dipped Cone: This fan-favorite made a return to Dairy Queen stores in May 2024 for a limited time after being discontinued for a year. Fans rejoiced as soon they can savor the fruity treat once again. They described it as a frozen delight that tastes like cherry-flavored ICEE with a coating like candy.
- Confetti Cake Dipped Cone: Now this is a flavor that I’d like to get whenever I want to treat myself. It’s inspired by those cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and rainbow sprinkles, popularly served during parties. Dairy Queen truly made a party in a cone with this one, hailed as a perfect treat for everyday celebrations.
Even without the flavors mentioned above, we can still enjoy Dairy Queen’s dipped cone. As of this writing, it’s available in vanilla and chocolate flavors. The cones come in kid’s size as well as small, medium, and large sizes.

Royal and Classic Treats from Dairy Queen
After revisiting the past, time to be present for frozen treats we can actually get from Dairy Queen right now. The soft serve shop has other nostalgic and fruity options that you can try while waiting for the release of one (or two) new dip cone flavors. Here are some of them:

M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies Blizzard Treat
This item under the Classics Category is proof that the famous soft serve of Dairy Queen is an ideal canvas for all kinds of toppings, including M&M’S. We know you’re not stranger to this classic candy and we know you’ll also love the satisfying crunch they give. While the soft serve melts in your mouth, you get colorful candy shells bursting with cocoa goodness. What a sweet adventure!
Royal New York Cheesecake Blizzard Treat
Dairy Queen describes this as an illustrious treat the will capture the hearts of dessert lovers. The brand takes pride in the perfect strawberry to cheesecake ratio in this treat, thanks to its center filled with strawberry topping. The soft serve is also mixed with bits of graham, turning the treat into a magnificent collection of flavors and textures. This is something you shouldn’t miss if you’re looking for a unique way to enjoy the classic strawberry cheesecake.

Royal REESE’s Fluffernutter Blizzard Treat
Dairy Queen has successfully recreated a classic sandwich into blizzard treat fit for a royalty. This creative invention owes its decadent flavor to the combination of chocolate, marshmallow, and peanut butter topping. The overall flavor was taken to the next level with the addition of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. It is mixed with the soft serve ice cream to create that packed center which Royal Blizzard treats are known for.
The Royal REESE’s Fluffernutter Blizzard Treat draws inspiration from fluffernutter, which is basically a peanut butter and marshmallow creme sandwich. It’s a New England classic with a history that started in 1914, suggesting childhood nostalgia like other Dairy Queen treats.

From The Club
The Cotton Candy dipped cone looks pretty and promising! If Dairy Queen really is testing this item, I’m hoping for some good news soon. I wasn’t able to try the Cotton Candy flavor back in 2020 so it would be nice to have it back. A lot of people also associate cotton candy with the color pink so it looks like Dairy Queen is on the right track in terms of its hue. I wonder if this new Cotton Candy flavor will be a limited-time offer? It would be nice to have a new permanent item for dipped cones, other than the two we have right now.
