Taco Bell Puts the Baja Blast Spin on Classic Treats

The Baja Blast flavor, originally exclusive to Taco Bell in partnership with Mountain Dew, has a unique blend of tropical and citrus notes that could translate well into various treats beyond the fan favorite fountain drink. Imagine it in an ice cream, offering a refreshing twist that you might not find anywhere else. In the same way, it could add an unexpected but delightful tangy sweetness to a dessert such as a pie. The versatility of Baja Blast opens up creative flavor possibilities that can offer new and unexpected ways to enjoy classic treats we already love.

That’s why the Baja Blast x Taco Bell partnership is about to take things to the next level with a major release nationwide this summer. During the Live Mas Live event, Taco Bell showcased three new Baja Blast-inspired items: Gelato, Pie, and Twists.

The Baja Blast Gelato will be made available across the country later this season, while the Baja Blast Pie is expected to arrive in stores eventually, although the specific date is still unknown. Likewise, the release of the Baja Blast Twists is also still under wraps, but it’s highly likely that the brand will make them a limited-time option.

What Fans Are Saying

It’s possible that the upcoming release of these new desserts came as an unexpected surprise to many fans. And while there is definitely a lot of enthusiasm expressed in the social media conversations surrounding these tropical-flavored items, there are those who can’t help but feel skeptical about the unusual treat mashups that have occurred in these blue-tinged items.

Many fans are expressing their excitement for all three items, especially for the gelato. However, there are some who have mixed feelings about the Pie and Twists, with comments saying that they don’t really understand the obsession with the MTN Dew Baja Blast flavor. One comment jokes that they can’t wait for the release of a Baja Blast toothpaste and deodorant combo, implying that the beverage flavor seems to be getting applied to items you won’t normally associate with the Taco Bell exclusive drink.

Nevertheless, those looking for something new and unique this season seem to be looking forward to the rollout of the items, with the majority expressing excitement about possibly enjoying all three Baja Blast treats. So, while there is skepticism, the anticipation around these upcoming launches is still apparent.

A Closer Look at the New Baja Blast Treats

Taco Bell’s move to expand its menu with new Baja Blast items shows its confidence in creating limited-time offers and unique collaborations to maintain customer engagement. By introducing Baja Blast Gelato, Pie, and Twists, Taco Bell taps into the nostalgia and passion surrounding the Baja Blast flavor found in its own strong fandom.

After being successfully tested back in August 2023 at Taco Bell’s Irvine, California location, the return of the MTN Dew Baja Blast Gelato answers the demand for quick, portable desserts in today’s fast food scene. Since it’s packaged in a smaller-sized cup, it’s the perfect treat for those who seek instant gratification without committing to a larger dessert.

The Pie, on the other hand, has a fun, gel-like texture that adventurous eaters may find delightful. Similarly, the Twists blend the iconic beverage with the satisfying crunch of classic cinnamon twists, creating an unexpected balance of flavors that could pleasantly surprise curious taste buds.

From The Club

I agree that the pie and twists are a little concerning compared to the gelato, which feels a little more natural. But I’m definitely one of those curious enough to give them a shot. After all, the Mountain Dew’s Baja Blast never disappoints.
