Taco Bell Has Changed Its Sauce Giveaway Tradition
Big news for Taco Bell fans! The famous taco chain has a new addition to their sauces, but there’s a twist – they’re starting to charge for it. For the first time ever, if you want extra sauce packets, especially the new Avocado Salsa Verde, you’ll have to pay a little more.
The New Sauce That Costs More
The Avocado Salsa Verde arrived at Taco Bell on March 21. It’s part of their new menu and was made to taste great with their Cantina Chicken items. This sauce is special – it has tomatillos, green chili peppers, and real avocado. Taco Bell says it goes perfectly with dishes like the cantina chicken taco or bowl.
Each Cantina Chicken menu item comes with one Avocado Salsa Verde packet. However, if you want more than one, or if you’d like to add it to something else, it will cost you 20 cents for each extra packet.
Why This Sauce Is Different
This isn’t just any sauce packet. It’s almost twice as big as the sauces we’re used to from Taco Bell, at 0.5 ounces. Plus, it needs to be kept cold. The package even says it’s best when it’s chilled and shaken before you use it.
It’s a “premium” option, so it’s a bit more special than the usual sauces. That’s why it has a price. Taco Bell suggests that it’s kind of like other extras they offer, like nacho cheese, reduced-fat sour cream, or guacamole.
Not a Total Surprise
This might seem new, but it’s not completely unexpected. If you’ve ever ordered something with avocado or guacamole from another place, like Chipotle, you might already know you often have to pay additional. Avocados are usually an extra cost, so this small fee for the Avocado Salsa Verde isn’t too surprising.
Good News for Sauce Lovers
If you’re a collector of Taco Bell’s hot sauces, don’t worry. The rest of their signature sauces, like Mild or Diablo, are still free. So, you can keep grabbing those without any extra cost for now.
In conclusion, Taco Bell’s sauce game just got an update. If you’re up for trying the new Avocado Salsa Verde and don’t mind the extra charge, it could be a fun new flavor to add to your meal. And thankfully, you can still get their signature hot sauces for free.
