Having a quiet meal by themselves is one of every introvert’s simple joys. Yup, our personality also shapes some of our favorite meals. From their favorite comfort foods to anxiety-reducing snacks to help them survive a “social day,” some foods do speak to an introvert’s soul. From an introvert to another, here are 10 foods made for us. 

10. Homemade Soup

There’s nothing more hearty than a homemade soup made with fresh ingredients. It’s no surprise introverts love them! Homemade soups are warm and comforting. Even the process it took to cook them, such as chopping vegetables, simmering broth, and those gentle bubbling sounds, is enough to feel meditative.

Why eat out when you can take out and eat in the comfort of your home? There are a lot of movies that depict introverts ordering Chinese food. Also, not all introverts enjoy cooking, especially those on the run or busy with work. Besides, there’s nothing better than eating Chinese food takeout while watching the city lights from your home.

Sometimes introverts need a little boost to face the world, so they bring dark chocolate. Snacking on dark chocolate is known to reduce anxiety, making it the perfect treat for those trying to decompress after a day of social interactions. The ritual of simply chomping on some chocolates is peak introvert behavior!

We’re finally heading to the pumpkin spice season, and there’s nothing better than a pumpkin spice coffee. Today, coffee isn’t just a pick-me-up drink when you need a little energy kick. An introvert’s fridge is full of dinner from last night. They can whip up any leftover food into a new dish as they’re that creative. Or maybe they’ll just heat up some leftovers rather than leaving the comfort of their own home. There’s comfort in familiarity by consuming what they’ve left, which is very introverted.

The ultimate introvert beverage is herbal tea of any kind. Even just brewing tea and the warm mug you can feel in your hands is a very introvert thing. It’s best to sip on tea before going to work or after a long and tiring day outside, as it’s a gentle ritual while sipping in silence. Also, no one expects you to talk while sipping your tea.

If there’s an introvert’s fruit, it probably must be an avocado. They’re loaded with B vitamins, which help your body produce neurotransmitters like serotonin. Being low on B vitamins is also linked to increased anxiety. There are many versatile ways to add avocado to your diet, like making avocado toast or adding it to your daily salad. 

3. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is the ultimate filling meal to have. They’re warm and comforting, and the best part is you can throw in your favorite fruits or even peanut butter. Oatmeal is also high in fiber, which is the perfect food to push everything inside your stomach to give you the ultimate solitude, which is the bathroom, of course. 🤣

2. Night Cheese

Nope, it’s not those cheeses that mice feed on at night. They’re simply a wedge of cheddar cheese that introverts munch on at nighttime (or a midnight snack). Usually, introverts would add cheese to their grocery shopping list for a snack to munch on by the sink. Night cheese is peak introvert behavior as it involves eating quietly or “mouse moment” as the internet calls it.

When we think of an introvert’s food, a sandwich comes to mind. Introverts live in their little world, which usually involves stacking up their comfort foods in bread. This could be some fridge leftovers or food that comforts them, like turkey meat or a peanut butter spread. When it comes to a sandwich, you can customize your own and no one will judge you for that.
