Let’s be honest: there are some fast food items that haunt our taste buds to this day. Over the years, chains have cycled through countless limited-time offerings and bold experiments, some forgettable, but many unforgettable. Whether they were discontinued too soon or pulled for puzzling reasons, these classics had a loyal fan base that still misses them dearly. Let’s take a look at some of the best fast food items we wish would make a comeback.

12. Wendy’s Superbar

When we think of nostalgic fast food finds, we think of Wendy’s Superbar. It existed way back 1980s, which is a pretty unrealistic thing to bring back today. The buffet bar has three sections, which are Italian, Mexican, and Garden Spot for salads. For the Italian section, you’ll see pasta and even pizzas, while the Mexican section serves burrito and tortilla chip plates.

11. KFC’s Double Down

Who here misses the iconic Double Down? It’s hard not to hear of this menu item, as it has always been a topic in discontinued food conversations. It features a sandwich that is made out of fried chicken patties, filled with cheese, bacon, and sauce. It was reintroduced again in 2010 and even in 2023, but it hasn’t been on the chain’s menu since.

10. Pizza Hut’s Triple Deckeroni Pizza

Remember this particular Pizza Hut pizza from 1996? It may be in the back of your mind, but this was a real deal for a filling pizza back in the day. It features two layers of pizza dough with cheese, sauce, and toppings above and in between the dough. Cross your fingers that Pizza Hut will bring them back, as lately, they’re on a roll with creative pizza ideas.

9. Taco Bell’s Waffle Tacos

2014 was the year when everyone raved about Taco Bell’s new breakfast addition of Waffle Tacos. Yup, instead of taco shells, we have waffles that are filled with egg or your choice of sausage or bacon. There’s even a syrup that you can put on top.

8. McDonald’s Pizza

The 1980s were a year of many nostalgic things, and one of those was McDonald’s Pizzas! It’s a personal pizza with four toppings of cheese, pepperoni, green peppers, and onions. However, it hasn’t been on the menu since it destroys the fast food concept of the brand because of the slower cooking time. Hopefully, it sees the light of day again soon and let the new generation have a taste of an unusual McDonald’s menu item.

7. McDonald’s McLobster

Yup, McDonald’s used to serve those trending lobster sandwiches that you see online. It was introduced back in 1992, and the fast food chain charged a fraction more of the price for the lobster roll compared with other places that serve them. While we would love to taste them again, it’s unclear whether McDonald’s will bring them back even for just a limited time.

6. Wendy’s Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich

Taking on the hot honey trend, Wendy’s released the Hot Honey Chicken, which quickly earned its own fan base. It’s your typical chicken sandwich with a special hot honey sauce added to the chicken. However, seven months later, Wendy’s discontinued the hot honey sauce, which meant the sandwich would also go.

5. Burger King Cini-Minis

Everyone was excited when Burger King announced last year that the Cini-Minis would briefly make a comeback. It finally returned after a 12-year hiatus, and they were available in 4-packs. They were first introduced back in 1998 as bite-sized cinnamon rolls served with sweet icing for dipping. Well, Burger King better bring them back this year!

4. Pizza Hut’s Bigfoot

Bigfoot (the pizza) made its appearance back in the 1990s with a memorable massive advertising campaign. Customers could choose six toppings for their Big Foot pizza. One flavor you can probably remember is the Meaty Madness, which consists of pepperoni, ham, beef, and pork in a rectangular-shaped dough. But a year later, Bigfoot mysteriously disappeared from the Pizza Hut menu and has never been seen since.

3. Taco Bell’s Caramel Apple Empanada

We used to end our Taco Bell meal with their Caramel Apple Empanada as a dessert. But in 2019, they mysteriously disappeared from the menu despite being a popular menu item for 15 years. This dessert empanada features a sweet filling of apple caramel in a hot and crispy dough.

2. McDonald’s McSalad Shakers

This menu item would probably go in one of McDonald’s healthiest and iconic menu items. It includes three varieties of Grilled Chicken Caesar, Chef, and Garden, which are pure greens. They’re simply salad in a plastic cup since they were a popular food choice towards the new millennium back then.

1. Pizza Hut’s P’Zone

Remember these popular P’Zone treats that were revealed during the 2002 Super Bowl? It’s a calzone wrapped in parmesan-filled dough with options of Meaty and Supremo. It was brought back for a short time in 2019, but it hasn’t been seen on the Pizza Hut menu since.
