The Big McDonald's Comeback Snack Wraps and Chicken Strips on Their Way

Chicken has been a classic at McDonald’s since it almost makes up half of their menu. It’s no wonder since their craveable crispy fried chicken, which is a popular fast food option, has been a part of their identity. From fried chicken, nuggets, and sandwiches, there’s something for you at McDonald’s.

The Chicken Big Mac may be the next big thing on McDonald’s menu but that’s not the only chicken option making waves. If you miss those snack wraps that they used to have on the McDonald’s menu, then you’re in for a treat since, according to a trusted source, McDonald’s is bringing them back. But the most important component of the Snack Wrap is the chicken strips! Well, we bear good news as the Snack Wrap is already taking shape, starting off with the release of the new McCrispy Strips!

Now, what’s this McCrispy Strips we’re talking about? In case you haven’t tried them, it features a chicken breast rolled into a crispy batter and fried to perfection to attain the perfect crispiness. It is served together with the sauce of your choice. In case you missed it, the McCrispy Strips was a former test menu item in July at Hickory, North Carolina locations.

There is no news yet regarding its nationwide release, but there are plans for an upcoming nationwide release in 2025. We know you’re excited, but you just have to wait a little longer. For now, you can choose from McDonald’s wide variety of chicken menu items for your cravings.

Let’s Talk About McDonald’s Snack Wrap

Now that the first step towards the comeback of these wraps is already in the works, we can expect to taste the Snack Wrap once again! Most of us would probably remember the year 2013 as the time when Snack Wrap was in its full-blast mode when it was popular among millennials. Well, it marks the year when the snack wraps were rolled out, as they feature mixed vegetables all wrapped in flour tortillas.

Its roots can be traced back to 2004 in Poland, where the McWraps was a huge hit! It was catered to the health-conscious customers. McDonald’s serving vegetables? That’s something that doesn’t happen every day, but hey, at least their burgers have lettuce and tomatoes! 😅

Kidding aside, McDonald’s thought that it might also do well with the USA crowd, so in 2006, they tested the waters. A small number of Snack Wrap was made available, and in 2010, McDonald’s tested out a full-sized version that brought us the Chicken Grande Wrap and Fresh Garden Wrap.

By 2012, the Premium McWraps were released at McDonald’s stores in two cities, becoming the test location. In 2013, there was a much wider location release with a brand new lineup: Bacon McWrap, Ranch McWrap, and Sweet Chili McWrap. Each option includes your choice of grilled or crispy chicken as its main protein. With a variety of other menu items such as Big Mac, chicken nuggets, and fries, many assumed that McWraps was the healthiest bet out there.

From The Club

Snack Wraps is fast approaching at McDonald’s, and I could never miss the opportunity to grab a bite of this one! I’m a huge fan of Subway’s breakfast rolls, so I’m excited to know McDonald’s take on this. Although I’m curious why McDonald’s decided to remove this treat from their menu, knowing that it’s doing great. Oh well, what’s important is they’re bringing them back again; hopefully, this time, it becomes permanent on the menu.
