What Are The Halal Guys Up to This Summer?
The Halal Guys, pioneers of American Halal food, is spicing up the summer with their new Chicken Wings—a first for the iconic New York brand. These wings feature a golden, crispy exterior and tender, juicy meat inside. Alongside the wings, customers can enjoy limited-time dishes like Chicken Shawarma and Cilantro-Lime Hummus.
VP of Purchasing and Distribution Shawn Edelman said that the brand wanted to make summer unforgettable for its fans by providing flavor-packed dishes that are perfect for the season. Let’s take a closer look at these new menu items:
- The Halal Guys Chicken Wings: These wings are available with two new signature sauces, Hot Chili BBQ and Smokey BBQ, as well as the brand’s classic BBQ sauce, White Sauce, and newly added Herbal Blended White Sauce. Prices are at $5.99 for four pieces, $10.99 for eight pieces, and $14.99 for twelve pieces. Alternatively, customers can also get this on platters starting at $11.99 for a small and $12.99 for a regular.
- Chicken Shawarma: A returning fan favorite, The Halal Guys Chicken Shawarma is marinated in garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and spices, perfectly roasted on a vertical rotisserie, and cut at the peak of readiness. It’s available for a limited time as a sandwich wrap for $10.49 or as a platter starting at $11.99 for a small and $12.99 for a regular serving.
- Cilantro Lime Hummus: Another one of the limited-time menu items, The Halal Guys’ Cilantro Lime Hummus is made with Greek chickpeas, key limes, and topped with cilantro puree. The bright zest of the Cilantro Lime Hummus is the best companion to the Chicken Shawarma meal. Customers can get this side for only $4.59.
In addition to these, The Halal Guys is offering a free side of fries with a sandwich or platter purchase as a way to celebrate National French Fry Day with guests. A Quick Look at How The Halal Guys Got Started
Founded in 1990 by Egyptian immigrants, The Halal Guys has grown from a humble food cart on the streets of New York to a global brand known for their unique take on American Halal food. The original trio—Mohamed Abouelenein, Ahmed Elsaka, and Abdelbaset Elsayed—made waves in New York’s street food scene by offering halal meals to Muslim taxi drivers in need of delicious and culturally appropriate meals.
Their early success is due to their commitment to using high-quality ingredients in their secret recipes. Today, The Halal Guys is celebrated as one of New York City’s most iconic food experiences, ranking as the third “Most Yelped” business in all of NYC and in the Top 10 Most Yelped businesses in America. These and many more of the brand’s achievements continue to propel The Halal Guys forward.

From The Club
Don’t you just love the abundance of chicken wing releases this summer? I think it’s one of the best things about this season. I haven’t had the chance to try food from The Halal Guys and it seems this would be the perfect time to do so. I’ve heard good things about their white sauce and how it goes with pretty much anything you put it on. I think I’ve seen a location around my area, so maybe I can check them out tomorrow so I can also get a side of fries with my first ever The Halal Guys order. Or I could also just place an online order since the promo code for the free fries also works there.
