If the Snack Wraps made it back, anything seems possible now. The McDonald’s vault is clearly not locked for good and these 12 discontinued items need to be next in line. From bold burgers to iconic sweets and sauces, these items are overdue for a (permanent) return.

12. Chicken Fajitas

Yes, this is your reminder that McDonald’s once served Chicken Fajitas in early 1990s and fans still believe they’re something else. These bites were made with tortilla loaded with grilled chicken, onions, peppers, and cheese. They also came with an optional picante sauce for added zest. It’s unclear why the chain discontinued this menu item but McDonald’s could’ve had it all.

11. Chipotle BBQ Sauce

Barbecue and spice lovers, you would love to see this sauce again on the menu. The Chipotle BBQ Sauce was released around 2014, and we loved it for its rich, layered flavor, compared to the more basic sauces. The spice wasn’t overwhelming and there was enough kick to keep things interesting. Fans are still trying to find a dupe for this sauce!

10. Big N’ Tasty

The Big N’ Tasty was McDonald’s answer to Burger King’s Whopper, both of which were conceived to be, well, big and tasty. McDonald’s version had a “grilled backyard burger” vibe and was simpler than the Big Mac. People loved the Big N’ Tasty for being straightforward and having that craveable balanced, smoky taste.

9. Cajun Chicken Sandwich

In 2024, we had a premium upgrade to the regular McCrispy, the Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy Chicken Sandwich! This was a limited-time flavor bomb that brought a combination of crispy, smoky, and creamy. The Cajun ranch sauce was the real star, adding a zesty, spicy kick to the sandwich. There was also a deluxe version of this discontinued sandwich, complete with shredded lettuce and Roma tomatoes.

8. All-Day Breakfast

We’ve heard about people who can live off McMuffins, and honestly, we can’t blame them. We need the all-day breakfast back from McDonald’s because breakfast cravings have no curfew! Sometimes, you just need a sausage McMuffin at 3 P.M. or a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and hash browns for dinner. We’re still not over the discontinuation and the demand is still strong.

7. Cinnamon Melts

Bringing back Cinnamon Melts is a public service. Also called “Cinnamelts,” these sweet and spiced goods were topped with melted cream cheese icing and tasted similar to classic cinnamon rolls. They became a fan-favorite but were discontinued due to logistical issues. Still, the fans aren’t giving up on these gooey treats, and now there’s a petition to bring them back with over 18,000 signatures.

6. Arch Deluxe

In the 1990s, McDonald’s made an attempt to create a “grown-up” burger, which led to the birth of Arch Deluxe. It had a “bistro burger” feel and a creamy, tangy sauce that was totally different from other McDonald’s sauces. Arch Deluxe also felt fancy for a fast food burger since the presentation was premium and the use of potato bun gave it an upscale vibe.

5. Grilled Onion Cheddar Burger

The Grilled Onion Cheddar Burger was a sleeper hit that has a loyal fanbase up until now. Despite having basic ingredients, the burger felt elevated with the use of white cheddar (instead of American cheese) and the addition of caramelized onions. Cheese and onions together? Flavor bomb! This burger was also part of the dollar menu, so it felt like getting a gourmet burger for just $1.

4. Fruit ‘n Yogurt Parfait

Now that there’s a preference for refreshing and more wholesome food options, how about bringing back the Fruit ‘n Yogurt Parfait at McDonald’s? Served in a cup, this item consisted of low-fat yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, and granola. It fit into the lighter meal plans and made McDonald’s felt like a place you could visit without wrecking your diet.

3. Mighty Wings

Yes, McDonald’s also used to offer deep-fried, bone-in chicken wings with a bold, spicy breading. They came in three, five, and ten-piece orders and fans loved how these wings were perfectly spiced. The spicy kick wasn’t typical for McDonald’s and it was perfect for those who wanted more challenging items than the McNuggets. Sadly, during launch, the Mighty Wings were more expensive than people expected.

2. Sweet Chili Sauce

McDonald’s Sweet Chili Sauce brought tanginess and sweet heat to the fast food game and sauce lovers everywhere still miss it, so much so that they’re looking for alternatives on this Reddit thread. If you remember the viral BTS Meal from McDonald’s, they featured the Sweet Chili Sauce— sticky, glossy, flavorful, and more gourmet than other fast food dips.

1. Mushroom & Swiss Angus Burger

The arrival of the Mushroom & Swiss Angus Burger also reflected McDonald’s attempt to offer a premium and full-flavor burger experience. The mushroom + Swiss cheese combo gave it a steakhouse vibe and the Angus patty was also thicker and of higher quality than regular McDonald’s burgers. This steakhouse fast food moment remains unmatched and we need it back!
