Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes And Hayrides All Wait For You At These 8 Michigan Farms This October

October in Michigan comes with a short, sweet window for picking pumpkins, getting lost in corn, and bouncing along on a wagon full of hay. The farms on this list pack all three into one trip, plus extras like petting barns, giant slides, apple cannons, and fresh donuts with cider.

Some are tiny family operations, while others sit on land that has been farmed for more than a century. Pick one close to home, or turn a weekend into a little road trip across the state.

1. The Wild Pumpkin, Beaverton, MI

Plan on staying a while here, because three or four hours can slip by fast. The Wild Pumpkin calls itself a place where eggs hatch in spring and big, bright pumpkins fill the patch in fall.

Corn maze fans get two options, a beginner path and an advanced one. Younger kids tend to head straight for the corn pit, the hayloft maze, and a playground so large it includes huge slides that grown-ups enjoy too.

The tractor ride rolls past sunflower fields and corn stalks. You can pick sunflowers as well as pumpkins, which makes for a colorful haul.

Animal lovers can pet and feed the farm residents. Hot food, donuts, cider, and a farm store round things out.

Hours run noon to 6 PM Monday through Thursday and 10 AM to 6 PM Friday through Sunday. Dogs are allowed, so the family pup can tag along.

2. CornFun Corn Maze Adventure And Pumpkin Patch, Casco, MI

One ticket, a whole afternoon of fall. CornFun in Casco bundles a hayride, the corn mazes, wildflower picking, the petting zoo, and a lineup of farm games into its admission price.

That setup makes budgeting easy for families heading out from the Macomb and St. Clair County area. Pumpkin prices here are known for staying reasonable, too.

The small-business feel is part of the charm. Pumpkin and flower fields sit right alongside the maze, so you are not hiking across acres between stops.

Timing matters with this one. It is closed Monday through Thursday, open 3 to 8 PM on Fridays, and 10 AM to 8 PM on weekends, with a free on-site parking lot.

3. Flushing Farms, Flushing, MI

Night owls, take note. Flushing Farms stays open until 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and runs seven days a week, which is rare among Michigan fall farms.

The pumpkin patch comes with two mini mazes sized for kids. Out back waits a much bigger maze, roughly an acre, for anyone who wants a real challenge.

Tickets cover bounce houses, hayrides, barrel rides, a flower garden, the corn maze, and animals to feed and pet. A donut of your choice and a glass of cider from the concession stand are included as well.

Pumpkin donuts and apple cider slushies are the snacks people come back for. Parking is free, and the farm sits just outside Flint on Gillette Road.

4. Harvest Moon Acres, Gobles, MI

A hayride through the woods after dark sets this southwest Michigan farm apart. Harvest Moon Acres opens Friday evenings from 6 to 9 PM, and Saturdays run until 9 PM, so a nighttime ride and maze run are easy to fit in.

The corn maze hides a scavenger hunt inside, which keeps kids focused on finding clues instead of asking how much longer.

Then come the bigger thrills. A gourd launcher, a zip line, a slide, a castle, games, and a tractor ride all share the grounds.

The petting zoo and pumpkin patch cover the classics, and cider with donuts handles snack duty. Sunday hours are 11 AM to 6 PM, and the farm is closed Monday through Thursday.

5. Ed Dunneback & Girls Farm, Grand Rapids, MI

Some farms are new to the fall game. Ed Dunneback and Girls has been working the Fruit Ridge since 1925, and it is now a fourth-generation, women-owned Centennial Farm just minutes from Grand Rapids.

A tractor ride carries guests out to the corn maze. The maze strikes a nice balance, not too easy and not too hard, with fun clues to choose from along the way.

Pumpkin picking is on the October menu, and apples are part of the u-pick lineup too. The Farm Market and Bakery and an on-site restaurant make it simple to turn a quick visit into lunch.

Farm animals and special events add to the day. The farm is closed Mondays, dogs are allowed, and changing tables are available for families with little ones.

6. Long Family Orchard & Farm, Commerce Township, MI

Established in 1876, this Oakland County farm is marking roughly 150 years in the family. That is a lot of autumns.

The weekend Fun Farm packs more than 20 attractions onto one ticket. Expect a corn maze, hayrides to the u-pick pumpkin patch, jumping pillows, slides, pedal karts, a petting farm, and apple cannons.

Not into mazes at all? You can skip the Fun Farm entirely, since fresh-pressed cider and hot cinnamon sugar donuts are sold daily with no admission needed.

The barn also stocks already-picked apples in 15 varieties, plus mums and market favorites. Buying Fun Farm tickets online saves $2, a small win worth grabbing.

7. Three Cedars Farm, Northville, MI

Bonfire circles for rent give this Northville farm a nice twist for group outings. Book one, and a birthday or friend get-together suddenly has a home base.

Three Cedars Farm is a family-owned fall and Christmas destination. In October, the lineup covers hayrides, a corn maze, and pick-your-own pumpkins.

Kids can climb a mound of hay bales, ride a small train, and explore a playscape that is larger than the playground around it. The petting farm brings visitors face to face with cows, chickens, and pigs.

Hot dogs, cider, and donuts handle the hunger, and the barn store is ready for souvenirs. It opens daily, with late hours until 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

8. Country Mill Farms, Bakery, Orchard & Cider Mill, Charlotte, MI

Apples and pumpkins in one wagon trip is the classic move at Country Mill Farms. Tractor wagon rides carry guests out to the organic orchard to pick apples, then over to the pumpkin patch.

The farm has welcomed families for over 50 years near Charlotte, southwest of Lansing.

Give yourself time for the corn maze, which takes about 40 minutes to walk. An apple cannon, a pumpkin slingshot, a playground, and slides keep energy levels in check.

Afterward, the bakery serves fresh donuts and the cider mill handles the drinks, with indoor seating available. The farm market stocks produce, baked goods, and gifts.

Hours are 9 AM to 6 PM Tuesday through Saturday and 11 AM to 6 PM Sunday, closed Mondays, with free parking.

Whichever farm you choose, go early in the month for the best pumpkin selection, and save this list for next October too.
