Alert Some Trader Joe's Nuts Pulled Off Shelves Due to Salmonella Risk

Hey there, friends! I’ve got some important news for those of you who love snacking on cashews from Trader Joe’s.

Wenders LLC, a company located in Dublin, CA, has issued a recall for certain batches of Trader Joe’s nuts, specifically the “50% Less Sodium Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews,” because there might be Salmonella in them. This problem was discovered during standard checks by the Food and Drug Administration when the cashews were coming into the country. They found that one or more of the batches had this germ, Salmonella.

These cashews were sold in loads of places like Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington. You can tell which ones they are by looking for where they came from, either India or Vietnam, and by the “Lot No:” on the back of the plastic bags. Here’s the info you’ll need:

  • Trader Joe’s Nuts – 50% Less Sodium Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews (SKU Number – 37884).
  • Lot Numbers and Best Before Dates:
  • T12139 (Feb 21, 2025)
  • T12140 (Mar 01, 2025)
  • T12141 (Mar 08, 2025)
  • T12142 (Mar 10, 2025)

So far, we haven’t heard about anyone getting sick, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. If you have any of these nuts, don’t eat them, okay? You can take them back to where you bought them and they’ll give you your money back.

Now, here’s why Salmonella is a big deal: you can’t see, smell, or taste it in food that’s got it. It can make anybody sick, but the little ones, old folks, and people who aren’t so healthy have to be extra careful because it can hit them harder. If someone eats these nuts and feels bad afterward, like they have a tummy ache, diarrhea, or a fever, they should go see a doctor. It can feel like other sicknesses, so doctors need to do special tests to find out if it’s really Salmonella.

Normally, if a healthy grown-up gets it, they might feel yucky for like a week. But sometimes, it’s so bad that people need to go to the hospital. And even if someone doesn’t feel sick, they can still pass it to others, which we don’t want.

Stay healthy and take care when snacking, everyone!
