Arizona takes its breakfast burritos seriously, and some kitchens here roll them so big you need two hands and a plan. The seven spots on this list stretch from Flagstaff down to Tucson, with plenty of Valley stops in between.
Some open before sunrise, a couple barely close at all, and one is a food truck with a loyal following. If you like a morning meal that can double as lunch, this list is for you.
1. Berlando’s Mexican Food, Chandler, AZ

Office breakfast runs have a new favorite target in west Chandler. Berlando’s sits on W Sundust Rd and starts wrapping burritos at 7 AM, Monday through Saturday.
The burritos here are long, heavy, and stuffed, which is exactly why they made this list. Many regulars treat one as a full day’s fuel.
The red and green sauces get just as much attention as the burritos themselves, so grab both.
Getting in and out is easy. There is a drive-through, a free parking lot, takeout, delivery, and some outdoor seating if you want to eat on the spot.
One practical note: there is no restroom on site, so plan accordingly. Weekdays run until 9 PM, Saturdays wrap up at 4 PM, and Sundays are closed.
Expect roughly $10 to $20 per person, which feels fair given the sheer size of what you get.
2. Lost Burro Tacos and Stuff, Glendale, AZ

A food truck named after a wandering donkey turns out some seriously oversized burros. Lost Burro Tacos and Stuff parks at 17204 N 67th Ave in Glendale, and even the simple bean burrito comes out impressively long.
Breakfast is the catch. The truck opens at 8 AM Thursday through Saturday, and that is when you can order the Breakfast Burro.
Tuesday and Wednesday start at 11 AM, while Sunday and Monday are off.
The California burro is another heavy hitter, packed with fries and carnitas, and there is a mesquite smoked beef burrito for big appetites. The menu also wanders into fun territory with Birria Ramen with Fried Egg and Big Papa Nachos.
Food is made fresh daily, service moves quickly, and dogs are welcome. Families get a kids’ menu and high chairs too, which is rare for a truck.
3. Vaqueros Carne Asada, Tempe, AZ

Opening at 5 AM every single day gives Vaqueros a head start on almost everyone. The Tempe spot on W Southern Ave stays open until 2 AM most nights and 4 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
That schedule means a breakfast burrito is basically always within reach. And these are not modest ones.
The kitchen uses a giant-sized tortilla, so the burritos come out wide and long, with plenty of filling packed inside.
Plenty of Valley fans call them some of the biggest breakfast burritos around. The menu is huge too, with tortas, tacos, and carne asada fries that hold their own.
Order at the counter, eat in, or roll through the drive-through. Parking is free, there are restrooms, and kids get their own menu.
I would save this one for an early road trip start or a very late craving.
4. Arizona Burrito, Mesa, AZ

Midnight breakfast burrito? Totally doable in Mesa.
Arizona Burrito, at 154 AZ-87, never closes, so breakfast is on the table at any hour, any day.
The namesake Arizona Burrito is the star, and it arrives gigantic and loaded. Carne asada chimichangas, rolled tacos, and loaded fries round out the menu, along with several house salsas ranging from mild to fiery.
Carne asada fries are another favorite, piled with tender meat. Bring a friend if you plan to order both.
Drive-through, curbside pickup, delivery, and dine-in are all options, plus free parking and a restroom. Evenings and weekend nights get busiest, so early morning may actually be the calm window.
5. Frank’s Restaurant-Tucson, Tucson, AZ

Some neighborhood diners earn decades of loyalty, and Frank’s on E Pima St is one of them. Longtime regulars have been coming back since the 1980s.
The compact, no-frills room serves American breakfasts by day, with a growing lineup of Mexican dishes. The breakfast burritos are big enough to split between two people.
Look for the Erick Burro with Meat or the veggie burrito made with three eggs. The chorizo has a real following, and the homemade hot sauce is a nice touch.
Classic plates fill out the menu too, like the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast Platter, Corned Beef Hash with Two Eggs, and a Denver Omelette. There is table service, good coffee, and full vegetarian and vegan options.
Hours run 7 AM to 2 PM Monday through Saturday and 8 AM to 2 PM Sunday. Weekend mornings fill up and parking can be tight, so arrive early.
6. Rolando’s Mexican Food, Phoenix, AZ

North Phoenix early birds already know the drill. Rolando’s opens at 5 AM Monday through Saturday and 6 AM on Sunday at 10639 N 35th Ave.
The Rolando’s Breakfast Burrito is the house signature, served hot, large, and filling. A Sausage Burrito is another morning option.
Sauces get serious attention here, including a hot sauce with real kick. Pair it with a cup of horchata.
Beyond breakfast, the counter turns out carne asada fries, a big chimichanga, asada tacos, chicken enchiladas, and menudo. The cooking has a homestyle quality that keeps people returning.
Note there is no delivery, so plan on dine-in or takeout. Weekend mornings are the busiest stretch.
7. Los Altenos Restaurant LLC, Flagstaff, AZ

Cool mountain mornings call for a burrito with some heft. Up in Flagstaff, Los Altenos on S Milton Rd serves an extensive breakfast burrito menu every day starting at 8 AM.
The burritos are big, and you can choose bacon or sausage. The beans are a standout, and the avocado salsa deserves a spot next to your plate.
Milton Rd is a main route through town, which makes this an easy stop before heading toward the Grand Canyon or back down the highway. Parking is free and usually plentiful.
Later in the day, try the birria tacos, gorditas, California burritos, or enchiladas with a distinctive sauce. Watermelon agua fresca is a fun extra.
The restaurant is clean, service is friendly, and hours run 8 AM to 8 PM daily. That closes out a statewide list worth sharing with your hungriest friend.
