Taco Bell is opening “The Cantinas,” an early retirement community promising a weekend of leisure and getaway in San Diego, on August 17-18, 2024. Designed for adults (21 years and up) who want to experience a laid-back, retirement lifestyle, The Cantinas offers daytime recreation, entertainment, retail, and dining activities. To join, exclusive memberships for Taco Bell Rewards members will be available starting July 16 at noon ET/9 a.m. PT.
The Cantinas features senior-inspired recreation activities such as pickleball matches, aerobics, and early morning tea times, aiming to rejuvenate guests of all ages. Taco Bell’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery, emphasizes that this initiative allows everyone to embrace the lifestyle they’ve been craving without waiting until age 55.
Access to The Cantinas is available through Weekend Memberships and Day Passes, offered exclusively for Taco Bell Rewards members:
- Weekend Memberships cost $150 and include overnight accommodations, amenities, and more for the ticket holder and a guest.
- Day Passes are priced at $50 per day and provide access to all activities and amenities from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

I haven’t been excited to retire until today! I love how Taco Bell changes up the definition of “retirement”, I’ve known it as a hard reality we all need to prepare for, but thanks to Taco Bell’s The Cantinas, I had a more positive take that it’s a leisure getaway that we all deserve.
Who doesn’t want a weekend of relaxation, a calm afternoon sipping a cool drink at the Retiree Lodge, diving into your artistic side with painting classes, or unwinding by enjoying pickleball tourneys or croquet? These are all my things, so I guess I’ll see you at our Taco Bell “retirement” home in August!
