Welcome to another batch of all things new from your favorite fast food stops. This March, we’re getting a ton of deals plus releases, and we’re delivering them to you! We’ve got amazing deals lined up for March Madness at California Tortilla and Shake Shack. Not only that but Portillo’s is rolling in with their Lent and St. Patrick’s Day offerings.

California Tortilla
Are you up for more March Madness? Let California Tortilla in as they’re about to kick off with their March Madness Promo. Starting on March 25 to April 7, 2025, every purchase will give you a chance to shoot some basketball hoops in-store at any of their locations. Your shot might land you a chance to win one of the three bounce-back prizes that they have:
- March 25-29, 2025: Get your chance to grab a free Chips & Queso
- March 30-April 3, 2025: Grab a free order of Taquitos
- April 4-7, 2025: Don’t miss your chance to get a free Burrito or Bowl
You can start redeeming your prizes from April 8 through April 30, 2025. And the exciting part? There’s no minimum purchase required for you to shoot some hoops and win prizes. Everyone can join in the fun just by purchasing something at California Tortilla.
Portillo’s
March at Portillo’s meant some Chicago-style bites that they can offer in honor of Lent and St. Patrick’s Day. The fast-casual restaurant restaurant is introducing some festive menu items that are worth taking note of.
First, Portillo’s will deliver all of the Lenten specials we need this year. Whether you’re looking for meals perfect for fasting or just some quick bites to energize you throughout the day, Portillo’s is here to bring you all your cravings. Check out some specials that they currently serve.
Welcome breakfast with a smile and a Pepper & Egg Sandwich. You can now choose to have your Pepper and Egg on a French bread or a flaky croissant. They will be available every Friday through Easter at all Portillo’s restaurants located in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
But if you’re craving a classic hot dog made healthier, get the Plant-Based Garden Dog. Yup, Portillo’s plant-based hot dog is made with 100% plant-based protein and crafted for them by Field Roast. It’s packed with mustard, relish, and celery salt. There are also some chopped onions, sliced red ripe tomatoes, kosher pickles, and some sport peppers that are piled onto a steamed poppy seed bun. They will be available all year round at all Portillo’s restaurants.
Looking for fish options? It’s a good thing that Portillo’s is also offering the Breaded Whitefish Sandwich. It features a breaded wild-caught whitefish filet on a brioche bun. The sandwich is also packed with American cheese and chopped lettuce, all smothered in tartar sauce. They’re available all year round at all Portillo’s restaurants.
But that’s not all, as Portillo’s also offered something for St. Patrick’s Day that’s available until March 31, 2025. Say hello to the Mint Chocolate Shake, which is a green minty treat meant to celebrate the special holiday. It features a blend of refreshing minty flavor and rich chocolate frosting, featuring Portillo’s famous chocolate cake frosting, which can also be made into an iconic Portillo’s Cake Shake. They’re available to get at all of Portillo’s restaurants.

Shake Shack
The votes are finally in, and all Shake Shack fans have spoken their truth! After a hoop showdown in-Shacks and on social, Shake Shack just announced their free Avocado Bacon Burgers up for grabs for all Shake Shack and basketball fans.
Now, through Monday, April 7, 2025, fans can get a free Avocado Bacon Burger. How cool is that? Read along to learn how you can score one:
- You should place a minimum of $10 Shake Shack orders via kiosk in-Shack or through the Shack app or website for delivery or pick-up.
- To avail of the deal, enter the promo code ‘SHOWDOWN’ to get one free Avocado Bacon Burger. Note that there’s a limit of only one free burger per order.
- Once your order is successfully added to your cart, then the offer will automatically apply.
Now, what’s so special about the Avocado Burger? Well, they offer a balance of 100% Angus beef, cheese, some freshly sliced avocado, and applewood smoked bacon, all smothered with ShackSauce. It’s the perfect burger to cheer on your team!
New Menu Items This March
More fast food releases are here to say hello this March. Catch the following craveable treats that are here to make your month a whole lot better!
Chick-fil-A
- Smokehouse BBQ Sandwich – This spring, the Smokehouse BBQ Sandwich is coming back with three options, which are Original, Spicy, and Classic Grilled Fillet. Each features a juicy chicken paired with crispy bacon that is hand-tossed in both brown sugar and black pepper blends. There’s also Colby Jack cheese and lettuce smothered in BBQ sauce.
- Pineapple Dragonfruit Beverages – This drink lineup features a combination of pineapple and dragonfruit blended with Chick-fil-A’s classic beverages. The options to choose from are Lemonade blend, Frosted Lemonade, Iced Tea, and Sunjoy.
- Ice Dream Spin and Float – These two new treats feature the chain’s Icedream, which is mixed with your preferred fountain drink. Currently, they’re being tested in Chicago, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and Tampa.
KFC
KFC is bringing in their first new bucket in nearly a decade, which is the Dunk It Bucket. Included in the bucket set is the new Mashed Potato Poppers, which is the crunchy version of their mashed potato that is creamy on the inside. Other inclusions are Secret Recipe Fries and the hand-breaded Original Recipe Tenders. You can choose among these crave-worthy sauces:

Better save some of Portillo’s Pepper & Egg Sandwich for me! 😋 I’m turning into a breakfast person, so those Pepper & Egg Sandwich, along with California Tortilla’s offerings, sounds tempting. I’m also curious about Shake Shack’s Avocado Bacon Burger since I have no idea how the avocado will match the bacon. We’ve got a pretty good March ahead for us, thanks to these goodies!
