One of the menu items, the Cheesy Street Chalupa crunch wraps, was a former test item at Taco Bell restaurants around Indianapolis, Indiana, last year, along with the Crispy Chicken Nuggets in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After customers picked it up, they finally decided to drop the food item at other participating stores as well, and we can definitely see why!

What Fans Are Saying

Taco Bell has long teased the comeback of the fan-favorite Cheesy Street Chalupa and the new Jalapeño Ranch Nacho Fries on its menu this July, and finally, they’re bringing them to more locations.

Fans are excited, especially for the Cheesy Street Chalupa, as they’ve long requested for it to be part of the menu. Many fans said that the ranch sauce and cheesy taco shells complemented well on each other. They suggested choosing the seasoned beef as a filling and adding Taco Bell’s hot sauce for a more tastier Chalupa.

As much as fans are excited about the Cheesy Street Chalupa release, there’s less buzz around the Jalapeño Nacho Fries since they’re a new addition to the menu. Despite this, we hope for the success of both food items for Taco Bell to expand its availability nationwide.

Baja Blast is Coming to Town

Aside from the release of the two new food items, Taco Bell launched the Baja Blast treats in collaboration with Mountain Dew. During the Live Más Live event, Taco Bell announced that they are unveiling new Baja Blast items, such as gelato, pie, and twists.

Baja Blast is Mountain Dew’s exclusive drink, which has been available only at Taco Bell restaurants since 2004. It is said to taste best with the restaurant’s Mexican food offerings, so this has gathered a cult following among customers. With this, Mountain Dew decided to offer them at retail stores in 2014. The drink has become a staple of Mountain Dew as they continue releasing them as part of their summer lineup. In January 2024, they became a permanent part of Mountain Dew’s permanent flavor.

This unique flavor got some fans scratching their head as they never imagined the fountain drink making its way into desserts and appetizers. They may have received the gelato warmly, but they had mixed emotions about the Baja blast pie and the cinnamon twists like treats. But one thing is certain: let’s not judge food by its appearance. Who knows? It may become your new favorite.

The Baja Blast Gelato is set to launch by the end of the summer season, while the release dates for the Pie and Twists are yet to be announced.

I’m also trying the Jalapeño Ranch Nacho Fries as a side, as the blend of spicy jalapeño ranch sauce intrigues me. Taco Bell surely has great combos in store for us! I’ll mark July 18 off my calendar to be one of the first to taste these new items.
