Lay’s is at it again with a brand new flavor that you can only get at Costco!

While most of us usually go for the classic flavors like Sour Cream & Onion or Salt & Vinegar chips, Lay’s still never fails to grab our attention with something new. They’ve proven their commitment to coming up with unique flavors like when they released the four “Flavor That Hits Home” Lay’s chips that includes a flavor called Crispy Taco. This continued innovation from them makes snack time a little more exciting.

But now, Lay’s has given us another reason to head on to the snack aisle. Or more specifically, to head on to Costco. To be even more specific, Costco in the Bay Area. For the first time ever in the United States, Lay’s Honey Butter potato chips are coming to Costco’s store shelves. They used to be a regional exclusive in South Korea and recently, in Canada. But now, they’ve brought it back here where we can enjoy the perfect blend of sweet and buttery flavors.

These new Honey Butter chips are only available for a limited time at Costco locations in the San Francisco Bay Area as confirmed by Lay’s themselves. It’s a puzzling decision for sure but we’ll trust their judgement. But don’t start packing your bags yet just to head on over to San Francisco. There’s a very good chance that if this new flavor was well received by consumers, Lay’s will give them a wider rollout and make them available all across the country.

If you can’t wait to see if Lay’s will release the Honey Butter flavored chips outside the Bay Area, you can just keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned to our website for more news related to this snack. You never know when Lay’s will make your new favorite flavor more accessible.

From Humble Beginnings to Snack-Time Staple

When we talk about potato chips, it’s hard not to associate it with Lay’s. I mean the brand has been synonymous with chips for over 90 years now! It has a long storied history that begins all the way back in the 1930s, when a business man named Herman Lay cooked up the first batch of Lay’s potato chips. He actually started out the business selling these crunchy chips from the trunk of his car. At the time, it was just a small venture for him but he didn’t know that it was the beginning of what would become one of the biggest brands in the world.

Today, Lay’s has grown into one of the most recognized brand of potato chips in America as well as the world. They’ve taken the humble potato chip and elevated it to the level it’s at today. All while coming up with innovative new flavors to keep all of us satisfied.

A Taste of Korea Now in the U.S.

You’ve heard it right! Lay’s has rolled out a fresh and exclusive flavor—Honey Butter, ready to crunch on at selected Costco stores in San Francisco. This flavor has been tickling the taste buds of Korean snack lovers for over ten years, and now it has landed in the U.S. The blend of a gentle honey sweetness with a rich buttery taste has already made waves in South Korea and Canada, with fans adoring the unique flavor combination. Here’s more on the journey of this particular taste from Asia to North America.

Now, before you wonder why such a delicious sounding snack is limited to just the Bay Area, it’s all part of Lay’s strategy. This brand is known for testing the waters before diving in. If the exclusive Honey Butter chips get enough snackers smiling in the Bay Area, who knows, Lay’s might just roll them out all across the U.S.

But if you’re not in the Bay Area, don’t worry. While Lay’s Honey Butter chips might be hard to find, the global marketplace has you covered. Seek out Haitai Honey Butter Chips online or at Asian supermarkets, and get a similar taste sensation. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled in the local snack aisles, as Lay’s is always full of surprises, ready to release your next favorite bag of chips to a store near you.

And for those devoted Costco shoppers, the snack aisles there are just as thrilling. With an ever-changing selection, including returning fan-favorites and new finds like Lay’s Honey Butter, the partnership between Lay’s and Costco is something snack lovers watch closely.

From The Club

Honey Butter is a pretty underrated flavor if you ask me. If you’ve tried this flavor on other brands of potato chips, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s more common in Asian countries but this flavor is really delicious. There’s also something about how Lay’s potato chips are made. They just taste better than other brands. So them coming up with Lay’s Honney Butter flavored chips sounds like a match made in heaven. Too bad it’s only currently available at Costco around the Bay Area. Here’s hoping it’ll get the wide release it deserves.
