Salm Partners, LLC from Denmark, Wisconsin, has announced that they are recalling about 35,430 pounds of Johnsonville turkey kielbasa sausage. Why? Well, there might be little pieces of rubber in them, which is definitely not what you want in your food! The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (or FSIS for short) gave us the heads up today.
This problem came to light when people who bought the sausage said they found rubber bits in it. If you’ve bought any Johnsonville turkey kielbasa lately, it’s possible you might have them in your fridge!
The sausages in question were made on October 30th and 31st, 2023. They were sent out to stores all across the country.
Here’s what you should look for:
- 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages that have just one “Johnsonville POLISH KIELBASA TURKEY” sausage in them.
- Look at the packaging side to find the best-by dates, which should be either “05/17/24” or “05/18/24”.
- The packages will also have a number “P-32009” printed on their side – that’s the establishment number.
So far, no one has reported getting hurt from eating these sausages, which is good news. But if you’re worried, definitely talk to a doctor.
If you have these sausages at home, please don’t eat them. You can throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them to get your money back.
Stay safe and healthy, everyone! And remember to always check your food packages for recalls like this. It’s better to be careful when it comes to what we eat.
