Seven Georgia Bakeries Whose Cinnamon Rolls Are Bigger Than Your Hand

Some cinnamon rolls fit neatly on a napkin. The ones on this list need a plate, a fork, and maybe a friend to help finish.

Georgia has a wonderful crop of bakeries turning out rolls so big they make your palm look small, from a scratch bakehouse in the North Georgia hills to a family-sized showstopper in Savannah. Some are classic and old-school, some are fully vegan, and one even lets you build your own.

Save this list for your next road trip, because a giant cinnamon roll is a very good reason to take the long way.

1. Sugar n’ Proof, Braselton, GA

Plan ahead for this one, because the shop keeps short hours and the cinnamon rolls have a habit of selling out. Sugar n’ Proof opens Thursday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 2 PM, then takes Monday through Wednesday off.

The rolls here are about the size of a dinner plate, which explains why they disappear early. A version topped with nuts is a favorite, and the pound cake tends to vanish just as fast.

The bakery sits on Davis Street in Braselton and focuses on cookies and baked goods made with fresh ingredients. Thick chocolate chip cookies, scones, and decorated cakes share the case with those giant rolls.

Prices mostly land in the $1 to $10 range, and coffee is available too. I would grab a roll, a cookie for later, and call it a solid Saturday morning.

2. Baker’s Pride Bakery, Savannah, GA

Opening at 6 AM on weekdays and Saturdays makes Baker’s Pride an easy early stop on East Derenne Avenue. Expect a line in the morning, though the staff keeps things moving.

This is a true old-school bakery with simple digs and a few tables. The cases are packed with glazed doughnuts, cheese danish, chocolate chewy cookies, brownies, huge blueberry bear claws, and some truly ginormous cinnamon rolls.

Plenty of folks come in for donuts and leave with a couple of cinnamon rolls too. That seems like a fair trade.

Custom birthday and wedding cakes are also part of the business. A free parking lot, restrooms, and prices in the $1 to $10 range make it practical for a quick run before work or school.

The shop closes Sundays, so save it for a weekday.

3. Chatsworth Bakehouse, Chatsworth, GA

Organic flour and sugar, grass-fed butter, and pasture-raised eggs go into the baking at this small-batch shop in historic downtown Chatsworth. A local husband-and-wife team started it with a clear focus on scratch baking.

The cinnamon rolls come out giant and often still hot from the oven. That alone makes the trip to Murray County worthwhile for a North Georgia road trip.

Beyond the rolls, the menu covers handcrafted pastries, cookies, brownies, and scones. Prices run a bit higher, around $10 to $20 per person, which tracks with the ingredient list.

Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Saturday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Free street parking and a free lot keep things simple.

Service is takeout, so a picnic downtown is a fine plan.

4. Auspicious Sandfly, Savannah, GA

The menu literally calls it the Family Sized Cinnamon Roll. That name tells you everything about why this Skidaway Road bakery earned a spot here.

It is built for sharing, though nobody is checking. The regular cinnamon rolls are a big draw too, alongside ham and cheese croissants, chocolate croissants, and cream cheese danish.

Fresh breads round out the lineup, and vegan options are available. Coffee, free Wi-Fi, and dine-in seating make it easy to linger.

The bakery runs Wednesday through Sunday from 7 AM to 3 PM and closes Monday and Tuesday. Weekends and Wednesday mornings get busy, so arriving early improves your pastry odds.

Free on-site parking helps.

I would save this one for a slow weekend breakfast with people you actually like sharing with.

5. Dulce Vegan Bakery & Cafe, Atlanta, GA

Plant-based eaters, this one is yours. Dulce bakes everything vegan, with gluten-, soy-, and nut-free treats in the mix.

The cinnamon rolls are giant, soft, and fluffy. A Vegan Cinnamon Bun and Coffee combo makes ordering easy.

The rolls are not held warm, so consider taking one home for a quick reheat. Other favorites include maple pecan scones, cupcakes, bagels, biscuits, and The Kirkwood Breakfast Sandwich, named for the east Atlanta neighborhood it calls home.

The shop sits on Hosea L Williams Drive and is dog-friendly. Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM and weekends from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings are the quietest times.

6. Sweet Me Good, Atlanta, GA

Afternoon cravings get their own address on Edgewood Avenue. Sweet Me Good opens at noon and stays open until 8 PM, Friday through Sunday only.

Infused Cinnamon Rolls are the signature here. The shop blends Southern dessert traditions with global flavors, so expect creative takes rather than a plain glaze.

Size is part of the appeal. The rolls are huge for the price, and the service gets plenty of praise too.

Brownies and cookies fill out the menu. Dine-in, takeout, and delivery are all options, and street parking is available nearby.

The limited weekend schedule makes it a fun treat after exploring the Old Fourth Ward area.

7. Cinnaholic, Warner Robins, GA

Build-your-own is the whole idea at Cinnaholic. You pick the frosting and toppings, and the vegan cinnamon roll gets made to order.

Portions are huge and served hot. Smaller appetites can go for baby rolls or cinna sticks instead.

The menu also covers brownies, cookies, edible cookie dough, and Dole Whip. That makes it a handy dessert stop, not just a breakfast one.

Hours are long, from 10 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday and until 8 PM on Sunday. Find it on State Route 96 with a free lot, Wi-Fi, and dine-in seating.

Sunday mornings are the calmest time to stop by.
