Fall in Massachusetts has a rhythm, and it usually involves a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins and a paper bag of warm cider doughnuts. The best farm stands here let you do both in one stop, no fancy plans required.
Some of these places lean into the family circus of hay rides and goats, while others are simple markets stacked with produce and pies. Here are seven spots across the state where the pumpkins are plentiful and the doughnuts come out fresh.
1. Parlee Farms, Tyngsborough, MA

Up in the northern corner of the state, this Tyngsborough farm packs a full New England afternoon into one property. You can pick your own seasonal fruits including apples, strawberries, cherries, blueberries and peaches, plus flowers and pumpkins.
The pumpkin patch sits a short walk from the parking lot, and wheeled carts are available to haul your haul back to the car. That small detail matters when you are wrangling little ones and a stack of gourds.
Inside, the charming farmstand keeps a scratch bakery running, with apple cider donuts as the headliner. There is also an ice cream stand for a sweet treat and animal barns where you can meet friendly farm animals, including goats you can feed.
The farm is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM and closed Mondays, running mid-June to late October. Keep in mind that pick-your-own hours differ from farmstand hours and change daily, so confirm before you go.
You will find it at 95 Farwell Rd.
2. Shelburne Farm, Stow, MA

More than 90 apple varieties grow here, which is a jaw-dropping number for anyone who thought an apple was just an apple. Honeycrisp, Evercrisp, McIntosh and Macoun are all in the mix, alongside pick-your-own peaches, Asian pears and pumpkins.
The apple shop is where the warm cider donuts get made fresh, and the store shelves stay busy with pies, frozen pies, cider, maple syrup, cheese, mulled cider, caramel apples and kettle corn. Food trucks often park on site too.
Beyond the store, the farm runs hay rides, a petting zoo, in-orchard play areas for kids and live music. The pumpkins here tend toward good sizes, and the pumpkin patch sits within the picking area.
One practical note: entering the picking area, including the patch, requires buying an apple picking package. Hours are 9 AM to 5 PM weekdays and 9 AM to 6 PM weekends.
The address is 106 W Acton Rd.
3. Langwater Farm, North Easton, MA

Organic growing sets this North Easton spot apart from the crowd. It runs as an organic farm and farm store, turning out fresh produce alongside baked goods like bread and apple cider donuts.
Come fall, the pumpkin selection is the star. Expect plenty of colorful pumpkins and an impressive variety, the kind of range that makes choosing a jack-o-lantern candidate genuinely hard.
The indoor farm stand also keeps an ice cream counter and caramel apples going, and there are hay rides plus a hay bale for kids to climb. The views toward dusk are a nice bonus if you time your visit late in the day.
Langwater is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM and closed Mondays, and lunch is served Tuesday through Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM. The farm store closes December 23, 2025 through January 5, 2026.
Find it at 215 Washington St.
4. Russell Orchards, Ipswich, MA

Coastal Ipswich hides a fruit farm that treats the country store like the main event. Alongside pick-your-own berries and apples, there is a bakery loaded with fruit-inspired goods and shelves of homemade treats.
The cider donuts here have a serious reputation, made fresh and paired with apple cider served hot and cold. Giant pumpkins round out the fall lineup, and the baked goods stretch well beyond just doughnuts.
Part of the appeal is the wandering. You can drift through the barn and the farm, meet the animals, and sometimes catch live music playing.
It is an easy place to lose an hour without really trying.
Russell Orchards is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM and closed Mondays. Parking is free and on site.
You will find it at 147 Argilla Rd, which puts you close to the Ipswich coastline if you want to extend the trip.
5. Tougas Family Farm, Northborough, MA

Families with younger kids tend to make Tougas a fall tradition, and it is easy to see why. Between the pumpkin patch, apple picking, hay rides and hot cider, there is a full day of activity built in.
The pumpkin selection leans big. Expect tons of huge pumpkins ready for carving, plus a wide range of gourds, and even pumpkins already decorated with faces.
Central to the visit is the produce store and cafe, where juice, cider and donuts keep the sweet side covered. There are also adorable baby goats to feed, a small playground and a dessert tent, so the little ones stay busy while you shop.
Parking is ample and free. Hours run Tuesday through Thursday 9 AM to 5 PM, Friday and Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday 9 AM to 5 PM, closed Mondays.
The farm sits at 234 Ball St.
6. Wojcik’s Farm, Blackstone, MA

Down near the Rhode Island line, this Blackstone farm goes all in on weekends. Fall fun runs Friday through Sunday, with apple picking, a corn maze, wagon rides and kids activities filling out the schedule.
The pumpkin selection is a genuine draw, wide and varied, and the farm store and bakery keep local staples stocked. Think honey, apple cider, cider donuts, apples and pumpkins under one roof.
There is a festival feel on busier days, with food trucks, live music, ice cream and a bounce house for kids. It is the kind of stop where you pick out pumpkins, grab doughnuts and then wander the vendors.
Hours are limited, so plan accordingly: closed Monday through Thursday, open Friday 4 PM to 9 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. Parking is free and on site.
The address is 65 Milk St.
7. Wilson Farm Inc, Lexington, MA

Close to Boston, Lexington keeps a farm market that runs at a bigger scale than most stands on this list. It is an upscale market for farm-fresh produce, homemade baked goods, prepared foods, meat and seafood.
Fall brings pumpkins of all types, from carving giants down to little sugar pumpkins, plus mums to dress up the porch. The apple cider donuts hold their own next to fresh pies and assorted cheeses.
Kids get their own draw here with a pumpkin village, a fun touch that keeps the shopping trip from feeling like a chore. The overall farm store selection is broad, covering everything from eggs and lettuce to flowers.
Unlike the seasonal-only spots, Wilson Farm keeps long, steady hours, open every day from 9 AM to 7 PM. Parking is free and on site.
You will find it at 10 Pleasant St, an easy stop if you are near Route 128.
