A soggy wing can ruin a good game night faster than a bad call from the referee. Across Arizona, from Phoenix and Tempe to Tucson, Flagstaff, and Prescott Valley, some bars take the crunch seriously and pour on the sauce like they mean it.
This list covers nine spots where the skin stays crisp, the flavors run from classic buffalo to mango habanero, and nobody is stingy at the sauce station. Save it for your next wing craving, or send it to the friend who always orders extra crispy.
1. J T’s Bar & Grill, Phoenix, AZ

Some wings come off a fryer, and some pick up a little char too. At J T’s in the Arcadia area, the wings are known for a crisp, charred finish that gives them more bite than the usual basket.
The order to know is the Hot and the Works Chicken Wings. “The Works” is a house sauce, and it gets applied generously, which is exactly what this list is about.
J T’s calls itself an unpretentious neighborhood spot, and it lives up to that. Expect a casual room, burgers, sports on the screens, fast service, and outdoor seating when the weather cooperates.
Timing matters here. The bar opens at 3 PM Monday through Wednesday, at noon on Thursday and Friday, and at 11 AM on weekends, with Friday and Saturday running until midnight.
Thursday and Friday evenings get busy, so a Sunday visit is the calmer choice. Reservations are accepted, and free parking is available nearby at 4829 E Indian School Rd.
2. Long Wong’s, Phoenix, AZ

Ask a longtime Phoenix wing fan where to go, and Long Wong’s name tends to come up fast. The spot on Thomas Road is a longtime fixture with a historic feel and walls full of memorabilia.
Here is the insider move: order your wings extra crispy. The kitchen will happily do it, and the result is a high skin-to-meat ratio with serious crunch.
Bone-in and boneless wings come in a long list of flavors, plus dry rubs for anyone who wants flavor without the mess. Sauce is never rationed, and the fiery suicide wings are there for the brave.
Beyond wings, the menu covers the Charlie Burger, Hawaiian pizza, curly fries, potato skins, and the Long Wong Hot Dog. Prices usually land around $10 to $20 per person.
It is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. Families are welcome, there is a kids’ menu, and dogs can join you on the outdoor seating.
3. Anchor Bar Tucson, Tucson, AZ

Every Buffalo wing traces its roots back to one kitchen. Anchor Bar began in Buffalo, New York, in 1964, when the original wings were deep fried and tossed in a secret sauce.
The Tucson location brings that original recipe to the east side, at 7080 E 22nd St. The brand even earned a James Beard Foundation America’s Classics Award in 2003.
So what shows up on the plate? Big, meaty wings with a crunchy outer layer and a moist interior, coated in sauce that ranges from mild to seriously hot.
A quick tip for heat seekers: start with the hotter sauce if spice is your thing. The milder options still carry plenty of flavor, but the classic Buffalo heat is the star.
It works well as a sports bar with plenty of TVs, and families fit right in thanks to a kids’ menu. Pizza logs make a fun side, and parking is usually easy.
4. Wings y Mas, Tucson, AZ

A table of 18 can get their food in about 15 minutes here, which says a lot about how this kitchen runs. Wings y Mas is a family-owned spot on Prince Road that treats crispy wings as its main job.
The wings are fried crisp, then smothered in sauce. Choices include sweet, spicy, buffalo, Cajun, ranch, garlic parm, lemon pepper, lemon, and gold hot.
Dry rubs are on the menu too, including salt and vinegar, which is not something you see every day. Want more?
Extra wing sauce or dry rub can be ordered on the side.
Beer-battered fries round out the basket nicely. Nachos, chips and salsa, and a Caesar salad fill out the rest of the menu.
One scheduling note: it closes on Tuesdays. The rest of the week, doors open at 10:30 AM and close at 8:30 PM, so plan for an earlier dinner.
5. The Porch, Flagstaff, AZ

With more than 30 TVs, The Porch makes it hard to miss a single play. This Arizona-owned neighborhood joint in Flagstaff mixes game-day energy with a retro-inspired look.
The wings come bone-in or boneless, with a range of rubs and glazes. Garlic Parmesan is a standout, and the boneless wings pair well with the onion rings.
The menu goes well past wings. Think gourmet burgers, braised meat tacos, nachos, pasta, and weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
After a day hiking around Flagstaff, the fireplace is a welcome bonus. Late-night hours run until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Families are welcome, with high chairs and a kids’ menu. Reservations are accepted, and parking is on-site at 360 W Forest Meadows St.
6. The Northern Pines Restaurant, Flagstaff, AZ

Breakfast at 6 AM and hot wings by dinner is a rare combo, but Northern Pines pulls it off every day. The restaurant on Butler Avenue opens early and stays open until 10 PM.
The wing sauce to remember is Daytona. It has earned a loyal following, and the wings underneath stay crispy.
Boneless hot wings and garlic Parmesan boneless wings are also popular. If you prefer classic, traditional bone-in wings are on the menu too.
The rest of the lineup leans comfort food. Green chile cheeseburgers, a smoked brisket parm melt, housemade pancakes, and seasonal pie all make appearances.
A patio, a fireplace, and a drive-through give it more flexibility than most. Dogs are allowed outside, and reservations are accepted.
7. The Hudson Eatery & Bar, Tempe, AZ

Habanero fans, this one is for you. The Hudson on Apache Boulevard makes its own sauces, and the habanero version is the one people come back for.
The 8 Jumbo Chicken Wings are the headliner. They come crispy outside and tender inside, and the Cajun dry rub is a strong pick for anyone skipping sauce.
Sides deserve attention here. The fries are well seasoned, the loaded fries are a meal on their own, and the Boom Boom Burger is a local favorite.
The indoor space is small, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome both inside and out.
It sits close to the ASU area, which makes it handy before or after a game. Hours run 10:30 AM to 10 PM most days and until 11 PM on weekends.
8. Zipps Sports Grill, Tempe, AZ

Order them golden medium and extra crispy. That combo is the classic Zipps request, and the Mill Avenue location handles it well.
Zipps has been serving the same signature wings for many years, and their consistency is a big part of the appeal. Bone-in and boneless options are available, along with hot sauce for more heat.
The menu is not a one-trick show, though. Burgers, fish and chips, wraps, and a corn dog basket are all there, plus salsa and guacamole.
Right on Mill Avenue, the spot draws college students and game-day crowds. Sports play on the screens, and there are games to keep groups busy.
Parking can be tricky downtown, so give yourself extra time. Weekend hours start at 9 AM, and reservations are not accepted.
9. Tailgaters & IL Primo Prescott Valley, Prescott Valley, AZ

Pizza and wings under one roof is a winning formula for a big game. Tailgaters & IL Primo in Prescott Valley covers both, plus a full lineup of comfort food.
The wings arrive with crispy skin and a well-seasoned crust. Mango habanero is the sauce for a sweet start and a solid burn at the finish.
Plenty of other sauce choices are available for milder tastes. The Ultimate Nachos and hot pizzas make it easy to feed a group.
Night owls, take note. It stays open until 1 AM on Friday and Saturday and until midnight Wednesday and Thursday.
Happy hour specials, a salad bar, and a kids’ menu add to the appeal. Parking is easy at 7160 E Pav Way, and reservations are accepted.
Wherever you land on this list, one rule holds true: ask for them crispy, ask for extra sauce, and bring napkins.
