The views are the calling card. An expansive deck delivers panoramic looks at Tiger Mountain and the vineyards below, and the whole setting stays peaceful.

8. Roo Mountain Vineyards and Bistro – 21+ ONLY, Ellijay, GA
Foodies, this one is built for you. Roo Mountain is a full winery and gourmet bistro, with The Roost kitchen turning out dishes to go alongside the wine.
Set about four miles from downtown Ellijay, it has two tasting rooms, indoor and outdoor, plus a rooftop patio with mountain views. Beyond wine, the kitchen also makes house ciders, and the events calendar includes barrel room dinners and dining right in the vineyard.

Billed as Blue Ridge’s original farm winery, this spot has real roots in the area. The vineyard and winery are both on site, so what you taste is made right there.
The atmosphere leans fun and relaxing, with live music and a gift shop stocked with reasonably priced items. Unlike a few others on this list, it welcomes families, so it is a friendly choice for a group with kids in tow.
Dogs are welcome inside, and the picturesque mountain views give you a nice backdrop for the afternoon. Winery tours are available if you want to see how it all comes together.
