It’s only the end of August but we’re already prepping for one of the most exciting festivals of the year coming this October. The excitement for Oktoberfest is already beginning as soon as September rolls around. And what better way to celebrate this German festival than with good ol’ German sausages, right? Good thing we have places like Dog Haus who have a dedicated menu just to help us enjoy the festivities.
Dog Haus is set to kick off its first ever Oktoberfest on September 3, 2024. This will be a massive celebration that will span two months and will feature exclusive new menu items plus collaborations with popular German brands. Dog Haus will even spruce up their locations to give them more of a festive vibe so everyone can feel like they’re celebrating in style. But the real highlight of the event is Dog Haus’ set of new menu items. Let’s take a closer look at what’s to come.
Oktoberwürst
This is the Dog Haus’ crowning glory this coming Oktoberfest. After all, what kind of Oktoberfest would it be without a delicious wurst, right? The Oktoberwürst is a brand new item on Dog Haus’ menu that was created specifically for Oktoberfest. This is a flavorful bratwurst stuffed with beer cheese, garnished with caramelized onions, grilled sauerkraut, mustard aioli, and scallions. It’s all served on Dog Haus’ special grilled King’s Hawaiian Rolls. Also, it’s worth mentioning that despite its name, the beer cheese doesn’t actually contain enough alcohol to get anyone intoxicated. It does pack a ton of flavor though.

Oktoberwürst Burrito
Have a breakfast craving but want something a little heavier? Then look no further than the Oktoberwürst Burrito. This new item includes the same beer cheese sausage, three eggs, caramelized onions, scallions, crispy tots, American cheese, and spicy mayo, expertly wrapped in a toasted flour tortilla. Truly a burrito that captures the essence of Oktoberfest.
These are definitely two great additions to Dog Haus‘ menu in the coming months. But that’s not the end of the new stuff coming out. We all know that no Oktoberfest is complete without pretzels. So this year, Dog Haus is giving us not one, but two exciting pretzel options for the festival. Starting on October 1, 2024, right as the festivities ramp up, Dog Haus is serving pretzel bites made from King’s Hawaiian’s soft pretzels. The first savory option comes with a beer cheese sauce while the second sweet option is sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and served with cream cheese frosting.
I think this is a great initiative from Dog Haus. The celebration of Oktoberfest honors German traditions with unique dishes not commonly found in the United States. Thanks to this, we’ll get a genuine cultural experience that will help us appreciate German culture more and its impact around the world.
