Pittsburgh does not really go to sleep at 10 PM, and neither do its pizza ovens. After a Pirates game, a show in the Cultural District, a long study session in Oakland, or a night out on the South Side, the question is always the same: who is still selling slices?
The good news is that the city has a solid lineup of counter-serve shops that keep the lights on well past midnight. Some stay open until 3 AM.
This list covers seven of them, from giant foldable New York-style slices on East Carson Street to a Carrick pizzeria with a devoted following and a student favorite near Pitt. Each one earns its spot for a different reason, whether it is the hours, the crust, the ranch, or the location.
Save it for the next time your stomach starts asking questions at 1 AM.
1. Benny Fierro’s, Pittsburgh, PA

Size is the first thing people talk about here. The slices at Benny Fierro’s are huge, thin, and built to be folded in half, New York style.
The shop sits at 1906 E Carson St, right in the middle of the South Side stretch that stays busy well after dark. It uses a thin sourdough crust that bakes up crisp, and the cheese slice is the classic order.
Hours run 11 AM to midnight Sunday through Thursday, then stretch to 2 AM on Friday and Saturday. That timing lines up nicely with the weekend crowd drifting along Carson Street.
Service is counter-only, so you order, grab your slice, and either find a seat or head back out. It moves fast, which matters when the line starts building late on a Saturday.
Prices land in the $10 to $20 per person range, and paid lot and street parking are usually available nearby. Reservations are not a thing here, and they are not needed.
2. Pizza Parma, Pittsburgh, PA

Few Downtown kitchens keep going as long as this one. Pizza Parma on Liberty Avenue stays open until 3 AM Wednesday through Saturday and until 2 AM the rest of the week.
It also opens at 9 AM, so the ovens get quite a workout. The slices come out crispy, with a generous layer of pepperoni on the classic pie.
The menu goes well beyond cheese and pepperoni. Look for the house Parma Pie, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Hawaiian Pizza, and a Pepperoni Pizza Boat, plus Cheesy Breadsticks for sharing.
I would save this one for a night when a single slice turns into a full order. The specialty pies make it just as useful for a dinner delivery as for a quick late stop.
Delivery, takeout, and dine-in are all options, and there is even tiramisu if you want something sweet. The address is 963 Liberty Ave, close to the Cultural District.
3. Fiori’s Pizzaria, Pittsburgh, PA

Ask around the city for a favorite pizza, and Fiori’s name comes up again and again. This family-owned pizzeria at 103 Capital Ave in Carrick has long been treated as a Pittsburgh staple.
The style is its own thing. Expect a slightly sweet sauce, a soft, lightly doughy middle, a crispy edge, and toppings piled on with a heavy hand, including pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, ham, steak, and provolone.
The double crust has a loyal following too. Beyond pizza, the menu covers hoagies, wings, calzones, pasta, Provolone Sticks, and garlic bread with cheese.
Here is the late-night part. Fiori’s is open 11 AM to 1 AM every single day, and individual slices are available.
Plan a little patience. There is usually a wait, reservations are not accepted, delivery is not offered, and parking can be tight, so it helps to arrive expecting a short hunt for a space.
4. Genoa Pizza & Bar, Pittsburgh, PA

Point Park University students have a nickname for this place in spirit, if not on paper: the staple. Genoa Pizza and Bar sits at 111 Market St, a short walk from campus and Market Square.
It serves pizza by the slice or by the whole pie, and the ranch on the side has a following of its own. Pepperoni bacon slices are a popular late order.
The menu is big. Pepperoni Rolls, Cheesy Breadsticks, French Fries, wings, subs, pasta, and even a Greek Salad share space with the pizza.
Doors close at 2 AM every night, which makes it a dependable pick midweek, not just on weekends. It opens at 10 AM on weekdays and 11 AM on weekends.
Extra perks help. There is free Wi-Fi, TVs for watching sports, curbside pickup, delivery, and a kids’ menu for earlier visits.
5. Papa Allen’s Pizza & Beer, Pittsburgh, PA

Homemade ranch with every slice. That detail alone sets Papa Allen’s apart on a block where you have more than one pizza option within a few steps.
The storefront shop at 107 Smithfield St keeps things simple and friendly. Slices are big and priced fairly, and the counter staff are known for being welcoming.
Menu picks include the Five Cheese Pizza, a Grandma Pie, Meat Lover’s, X-Large Cheese Pizzas, Pepperoni Rolls, hoagies, wings, and a Gyro Salad.
Friday and Saturday nights run until 3 AM. Most other nights go until 2 AM, with Tuesday wrapping up at 1:15 AM, so check the day before you head over.
It works well for visitors staying Downtown. Delivery, curbside pickup, and free street parking make it easy whether you walk in or order from a hotel room.
6. Giovanni’s Pizza & Pasta, Pittsburgh, PA

Crispy cupped pepperoni is the calling card at Giovanni’s. Those little charred edges pair with a slightly sweet sauce and a thin crust that stays crisp outside and soft in the middle.
The location at 123 6th St puts it steps from the Benedum Center and an easy walk from PNC Park. That makes it a natural stop after concerts, Broadway shows, and Pirates games.
Don’t skip the cheesy bread twists, served with pizza sauce for dipping. The Meat Lovers pie and Five Cheese Calzone are other solid picks.
Hours run until 1 AM Sunday through Thursday and 2 AM on Friday and Saturday. Even on packed nights like First Night, the kitchen keeps slices moving.
The space is snug and unfussy, with free Wi-Fi and vegan and vegetarian options. Delivery is available if you would rather not leave the couch.
7. Pizza Pronto Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA

Pitt students know the feeling of a midnight craving with few doors still open. Pizza Pronto at 4611 Centre Ave is often the answer.
The shop is tiny, with just a handful of counter seats, so most orders head out the door or arrive by delivery. Late-night delivery is a big part of its appeal.
What makes it stand out is the vegan lineup. There is a full vegan menu, including vegan pepperoni pizza and vegan chocolate chip cookies, alongside regular pies with a crispy crust and thick cheese.
Wings, gyros, hoagies, salads, and classic pastas round out the menu. Hours run until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 1 AM on Friday and Saturday.
One practical note: there is no restroom. Parking is usually easy, with free lot and street options nearby.
